Dussehra is a Hindu festival that celebrates the victory of good over evil. This day culminates the nine day long fasting period of Navratri. On this day the idol of Goddess Durga is taken in a procession and gets immerged in big water bodies. Many people of the Hindu faith observe Dussehra through special prayer meetings and food offerings to the goddess at home and in temples outside.
Vijaya dashami is the day following navratri (nine nights) and is celebrated as a day of victory of the good over the evil. It marks the end of Durga Puja and the nine days long navratri festival.
Dussehra – Also known as ‘Vijaya Dashami’ is the tenth day of Ashwin, Shukla Paksha* .
*Shukla Paksha is the waxing moon days of the month which is the brightening fortnight of the lunar Hindu calendar. The month of Ashwin mostly coincides with the month of October and sometimes overlaps the month of September and October.

Let’s be victorious over all evil thoughts arising out of our minds. May goddess durga bestow her blessings on us all.
Wish all a very happy Dussehra!
Have a blissful day…
