GITA WISDOM # 61

Chapter 59 Verse 2

विषया विनिवर्तन्ते निराहारस्य देहिनः।
रसवर्जं रसोऽप्यस्य परं दृष्टवा निवर्तते॥

इन्द्रियों द्वारा विषयों को ग्रहण न करने वाले पुरुष के भी केवल विषय तो निवृत्त हो जाते हैं, परन्तु उनमें रहने वाली आसक्ति निवृत्त नहीं होती। इस स्थितप्रज्ञ पुरुष की तो आसक्ति भी परमात्मा का साक्षात्कार करके निवृत्त हो जाती है ॥59॥

Mere withdrawal from the objects of desire does not lead to the stage of equilibrium. A dedicated executive shall completely give up all desires to achieve a higher mental status, that enables him to face the world of challenges without getting worked up. (2.59)
