TIME FOR OUR OWN

Time flies. We often plan activities but fail to execute in search of quality time. It’s crucial for success how we spend our time.

I have some experience I’d like to share. I am a person who loves to spend time with nature and kids. I love biodiversity. I love to watch children playing as they provide me good learning with their activities. It’s pure and godly. They do everything naturally out of their mind with less outer influence. To my good fortune i have the time now to spend time with kids.

I am passionate about reading and writing. I love to live my passion. It’s not just me but with many in my circle who want to live their passion. Though most of us like to spend quality time, many among my friends complain about better time management when they fail to do so. Me too no different.

I have divided my day to make it simple as work time, non-work time. My time away from work involves food time, sleep time, kids time, friends/family time and self time. Self time is the period i want to spend with God, nature and with my passion. At present my self time is the least of all and the least utilized time.

If you ask me how much time i would like to spend in each category, my choice would be my self time and then the required time with kids. All other time secondary to me. So, i want to increase this time.

How do you work out with your plan? Assume you have the luxury to spend all time now away from work as a sabbatical or some other category where you need not have to work at office for a month. This period you want to spend time with kids and for your passion.

How to distribute time evenly for all activity. The constraint is when you are with kids you can’t pursue your other passion as kids can’t be neglected. You must watch and observe them. Sometimes i wait for them to sleep so that i can continue with other activities. Kids love me and i can’t avoid them. You have to spend time with few kids daily in the age group one to six. You are not a mother and have no experience how to spend good time with them. Out of all time you must devote half for kids and most of the remaining as self time.

Are you struggling to find good time for your own? It’s very much essential for nourishment of our soul. If you had bitter experience in past and successfully overcome that it could provide learning material for others struggling and seeking advice.

Let all know about our experiences in past or present. We can help all by sharing information on how good or bad we managed our time in the past. What steps we took to overcome bad time management and make best use of our time.

I’d love to learn from your experience if i can relate myself and gain valuable information much needed for me.

BUILDING GREAT RELATIONSHIPS

Mission…

“To bring all human beings under one roof as part of a global family where insecurity is never a concern. Here, all are secure forever.”

We see major issues in relationships when people lack values. With great values we can build great relationships and a greater society.

Values need to be developed from early childhood. Children learn values from our actions even before they start communicating. They imitate us and our actions.

Let’s discover our personal values in life. It’s essential for any fruitful relationship as it becomes part of our day to day living. We can share only those values with others that we have inculcated in us. I will share my insights on how to build great values some other time.

As a practice i follow few tips i learned over time. People like us when we do the following. Share your learning with others. Mention a friend and share what you like about him/her. Admire someone in public during a meeting, at your speech or some other event.

Let people know you care about them and grateful for their contribution. Help someone in need from your heart because you are a nice person and want to provide service without any expectations.

It will have exponential effect. The feelgood factor will energize all further to do better. It’s a great motivational factor that helps people think different.
This way we can build a human value chain with a strong network. This force will build our future generations helping them learn better and do better. They will develop strong bond with fellow human beings with a service mentality.

RESPECT LAW & ORDER

There is a need to respect law and order in the larger interest of society. We have been fighting with each other for a long time now in the name of religion, caste based community and minority.

The Indian citizenship amendment bill 2019 seems unacceptable to people in certain areas as they treat this as anti secular. When a policy is under force it need to be respected. Citizens have no right to take law and order in hands.

Violence caused by riots and protests are unacceptable. It’s happening as some of us feel there is great partiality in this bill and they don’t see equally which was s going to harm the interests of the minority.

It’s highly uncivilized behavior. If we have some other better idea it may be proposed to government looking at interest of all and in a peaceful manner.

Good thoughts can bring better results. In case the administration finds something useful they may go ahead with it and bring necessary changes as required in the next amendment.

Till that time we all must remain peaceful. Let’s don’t interfere with government decisions how they operate.

Proposals are welcome and we should wait till next amendment. If we can really propose a great idea that can change the current situation and which can help protect the rights of all we may find something in our favor in the next amendment.

From the government side there is an urgent need to address media and citizens not to panic with current situation. We must make people understand that if something not seemingly acceptable to few in the current bill, still the rights of all going to be protected in long run.

We are a secular country and will remain so for generations to come…

When a decision is made at high level it is not the idea of any single person. Lot of discussions happen and consensus comes through collective ideas and opinions. When it’s a government decision at national level it can’t be without much thought process. Here, national interest takes priority. What is good or bad for people at large.

It’s not about Hinduism or Christianity. Sometimes few antisocial elements take advantage of a decision and spread rumors in the name of religion which provokes common citizens. They are now blind folded and without a vision. Rumors are so strong at times which make people violent and they come out for protests and agitation.

I am quite confident government can’t make anti secular decisions looking at interest of specific community. We are always secular and can never be communal. We received overwhelming response from people when triple talaq bill passed in parliament to abolish the age old system in our country.

We praised the effort of government that time looking at justice to all in greater interest of society. Now we condemn the same government and feel they are against us because of our community. How can this be possible?

Me and my government never thought to become a Hindu country or Christian country. We believe in secularism and equal rights for all. The decision can’t be politicized. National security is paramount for my government which suffers from global terrorism for a long time now. We never asked our citizens to leave the country based on their community. How can we think now they are targeting us because of our community.

It should not be treated on the ground of community if a specific immigrants group barred from citizenship at the moment. Our duty is to protect the interests of people who are already our citizens before looking at others who want to become our citizens.

I need to have enough food grains with me first to feed all refugee immigrants.
National safety of all paramount to me and my government. I just can’t add fifteen crore more numbers to my existing population overnight when i can’t feed them. Doing this i don’t want to do injustice to anyone as i can’t look after their day to day needs and help them settle well in my country.

At present I can allow only those numbers who can be taken care of by my government. The people may come from any community i don’t mind. The truth is when i find the number too big for one community compared to all others taken together, it’s unacceptable to me at the moment. In long run my government is committed to protect rights of all irrespective of community.

I can’t be against government decision. The decision seems to be highly misinterpreted by few. It’s not about any specific community. Decision not made looking at interest of any specific group. People who came out on roads claiming they are against the decision mostly don’t know what reason they are doing this. It was clear then most of them participating to support some miscreants under external influence. They even don’t know what is CAA. We need to respect government decision, remain secular and live in brotherhood.

The motivation behind writing this article is not to influence my government and their decision but to protect national interests so that people outside can only talk good about my country and my government.

We need to be wise, judicious and thoughtful in our approach.

Let peace prevail…

INDIVIDUAL Or INSTITUTION

You might be in a dilemma with your choice in decision making. You feel both are very important and inseparable. You are still thinking some way out to continue your association with both. You are happy when you discovered the way forward by the mercy of GOD. Now it’s an easy to arrive at a decision.

Let’s think about a situation when these two entities can’t run together and it’s inevitable now to choose only one. Both are still doing good and the individual is an outperformer in his own capacity though you are not certain about his other vital skills desirable for team success in your organisation. You did all your research and training activities to continue with both together.

The results now are not in your favour as you expected. It’s time now to take a decision and only one can be choosen.

Whom will you go with – the institution or the individual? When both are important, what is your choice? You can choose any without any pressure or bias.

MOTHER AS A TEACHER

image

image

In India we celebrate the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan as  Teachers’ day every year.  It’s a coincidence  this year we celebrate ‘Vinayaka Chaturthi’ too today across India. Lord Vinayaka/Ganapati is the god of Buddhi (wisdom),  Riddhi(prosperity) and Siddhi(attainment) according to Indian mythology.

image

On this Teacher’s day, a very nice thought came to my mind. Who is our first teacher? I think it’s our mother.

It feels very satisfying when a mother says I will learn again with my kid as I forgot few basics. What does it mean? I think it’s a very positive approach towards life. I came to learn this during an interaction earlier. It can reignite the passion in you and motivate your kid as well. This is an win-win situation for all in society when both can act as teacher and student for one another.

Do you have a second opinion?
You think and I am thinking about it to write more.

GETTING INTO THE REAL WORLD

What is your real world? Let’s do an introspection. I am doing it, anyone can do and everyone should do at least once in their life. Sooner we do the better will be our prospects for a more rewarding life we all wish to have.

The introspection for me is to analyse “why do I prefer to stay much of my time away from the virtual world of technology with all my electronic devices?” On few occasions I felt like I am getting carried away with these devices with too much addiction. What made me think this all let me explain with an example from my personal experience.

I used to prefer public transport system over any other mode and travel frequently. Have you ever noticed what people love to do during their journey if you are a keen observer? I just love to observe people without venturing into their privacy. At the beginning of the journey you can find most in a happy mood. You can find few people reading newspaper/books, few others having some official/personal discussion, few with their own thoughts in pensive mood and few more people simply enjoying the weather and landscapes outside. Among youngsters you will mostly find people listening to music, watching a video or playing games like candy crush saga.

Suddenly after sometime we found ourselves caught in a traffic and our seemingly thirty minutes journey expected to take two hours now. Now just watch the change in mood of the same set of people looking quite happy a while back. You can find youngsters quite restless blaming the system, the road conditions, the government and so on. They are just fed up with their games/songs/videos and looking out to do something more but in vain. They just can’t find anything better to do. This happens when we used to spend time alone. This is the truth among most youngsters these days. They just don’t like to mingle with others and develop sound relationship.

On the other hand you can find little more aged people in the working class at more peace of mind. The more senior citizens are even at more peace busy with their discussion as if nothing really happened. They don’t show any sign of discomfort or hurry to reach their destination. It’s their maturity and conditioning they learned to live. They don’t fear to talk to a stranger sitting next to them and make friends. I am quite surprised to find what values we lost in this present generation.

Over exposure to technology may be causing you compromise on your personal space. Youngsters these days found to spend more time with their electronic gadgets rather than spending useful time with their family members and friends. Is it a good sign for our personal development? I am asking all this question as our social development has direct dependency.

I have been hearing this question a long time now whether rapid advancement in modern day technologies a boon or bane for human development. In this world of information technology powered by high speed internet, I have no doubt technology has many blessings for us when we can get vital information on our finger tips without wasting much time. I remember the days when I used to stand waiting in long queues to pay my electricity bill or phone bill. It’s no more a hassle these days for me.

There is yet another side to this truth. When I do a comparison I discover few more truths laughing at me on what I get and what I lost in this process. When I realise this I feel like even wasting time at times is more useful when we have the time to share our feelings and express ourselves. I am happy to discover at some corner of my heart the much needed humane touch is still alive that inspires me to live and show others the right direction to live a more fulfilling life.

I am not going to discard the use of technology for all that i used to do manually before like going to a bank to pay my credit card bill. I am doing that easily now on my smartphone using a banking application. But you can still find people following the same old approach by their choice. I too follow the same practice at times when my father asks me to pay the electricity bill. I used to take a copy of the bill and go to the nearest payment counter. Standing there waiting with others is simply a very different experience. It’s a conscious choice made to spend time there whenever I get an opportunity to spend time with family at my home town. This is the time when I have no work pressure have all the luxury to spend time on what I like to do.

If we find older people preferring the traditional way in their approach over the modern technology friendly approach, it could be a conscious choice by them as they want to live a life they want and don’t want a compromise on that. I don’t fully agree with youngsters today what they explain as the primary reason. They feel like they are not tech savvy and they don’t want to learn better use of technology as they like to stay in their comfort zone.

Do you agree? How much time you think will they take to learn playing a video game or learn using a smartphone if they find that interesting? We can never understand their emotions unless we experience a similar phase of life they went through. I have asked few questions to myself and sharing with you as it could be applicable in your life. When was the last I wrote a letter on paper and posted to a family member or friend? When was the last I talked to a friend in person rather than wishing her/him over phone or SMS? When did the last time we watched a movie together among all family members rather than watching alone? You may find and add many more questions to this list.

When we think about over exposure, it’s primarily concerned about the usage of technology and it’s impact on our day to day living.
A big question to ask would be how much is enough and at what age? Can we regulate this?

Now I am going to share with you the best part of this article that inspired me to think and write on this topic. This is like a story I received as a message on social media. It touched me and you may feel similar after reading it. Here it goes …

Worth Reading…Nice message

I had spent an hour in the bank with my dad, as he had to transfer some money. I couldn’t resist myself & asked…

”Dad, why don’t we activate your internet banking?”

”Why would I do that?”
He asked…

”Well, then you won’t have to spend an hour here for things like transfer.

You can even do your shopping online. Everything will be so easy!”

I was so excited about initiating him into the world of Net banking.

He asked ”If I do that, I won’t have to step out of the house?

”Yes, yes”! I said. I told him how even grocery can be delivered at door now and how amazon delivers everything!

His answer left me tongue-tied.

He said ”Since I entered this bank today, I have met four of my friends, I have chatted a while with the staff who know me very well by now.

You know I m alone…
this is the company that I need. I like to get ready and come to the bank. I have enough time, it is the physical touch that I crave.

Two years back I got sick, The store owner from whom I buy fruits, came to see me and sat by my bedside and cried.

When your Mom fell down few days back while on her morning walk, our local grocer saw her and immediately got his car to rush her home as he knows where I live.

Would I have that ‘human’ touch if everything became online?

Why would I want everything delivered to me and force me to interact with just my computer?

I like to know the person that I’m dealing with and not just the ‘seller’. It creates bonds/relationships.

Does Amazon deliver all this as well?”’

Technology isn’t life ..

Spend time with people .. Not with devices.

Do you have a second opinion?
I’d like you to share with me your thoughts on this topic and share this article with others in your circle if you like it. I enjoy my time reading and writing. I wish you do have a great time writing and sharing your experience.
