POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE THOUGHTS IN COVID-19 PANDEMIC SITUATION

POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE THOUGHTS IN COVID-19 PANDEMIC SITUATION

We are what our thoughts have made us so take care about what you think, words are secondary. Thoughts live, they travel far. Swami Vivekananda

What we think happens, if our thoughts are positive, then we can put those thoughts into practice but if we transact such an act without much worries about the outcome then we can focus more on our action – since if our thoughts are positive then results will always be good. In any event, if results are not to our liking, then, there is always a second chance. But we should not fritter our energies in thinking about results only. We should always keep in mind that positive thoughts are precursor of positive outcome.

WHAT WAS HER FAULT?

Humanity has failed again…

Upashna's avatarUpashna

It fills me with nothing but disgust when I see the face of humanity around.
Are we even fit to be called humans anymore?
The very same proud creatures who called themselves human based on their ability to reason have been reduced to no more than what the famous writer Jonathan Swift once called;

“pernicious race of little
odiois vermin that nature
ever suffered to crawl upon
the surface of the earth”.

Evidences to prove the barbarism of humanity has been writ everyday on the papers since times immemorial.
However what I read today has shattered the very basis of my existence.
A pregnant elephant who had been caught in stagnant water for days breathed her last today.
The life forming in her womb ended along with her.
You must be thinking why the death of an elephant caught in a flood fills me with such rage. .
The reason…

LITTLE EFFORTS

Priyanshi Shah's avatarPOETIC PLAY STUDIO

I was afraid, you made me sing
I was exhausted, you made me dance
I was nervous, you made me write
I was lost, you made me organize
I was realizing, you made me feel
I was thinking, you made me a dreamer
I was wondering, you made me travel
I was reading, you made me a believer
I was talking, you made me poetic
I was angry, you made me relax
I was frightened, you made survive
I was fighting, you made me a warrior
I was sad, you made me happy
I was stupid, you made me polite
I was crazy, you made me crazier
I was nobody, you made me somebody
And this is how the story begins…
Very few lucky people hold on to such a person.

A SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR A GREAT FUTURE

It’s originally published by me here six years back on the same day. I think it’s even relevant today and I should revisit the same again on this great day.

Happy world environment day!

Debasis Nayak's avatarB +Ve!!

Our environment is a topic of general concern and i have many thoughts coming to mind today on the occasion of world environment day. When i am looking at a great future for all living species, it can’t be without a safe environment.

We celebrate world environment day on 5th June and the day of biodiversity on 22nd May every year. Our environment has a big picture. It’s not limited to our surrounding like our workplace or home. It’s the world as a whole. Why i say the whole world is because one place is not independent of the other when it comes to our environment. When we cause harm to nature at one place, it can affect some other place far away. It’s because of imbalance. Rapid deforestation, industrial pollution and many such factors are all responsible for this imbalance. One major example is earthquake/tsunami that is caused…

Once upon a time, the queen of Gem-Land was walking around with her servants when she saw a poor guy sitting on the ground drawing some lines on dirt with his finger while kids were circled around him.

The queen asked him: “What are you doing?”

He responded: “I am building a home.”

The queen said: “Are you willing to sell your home?”

He said: “Yes.” and gave a price to the queen.

The queen asked her servants to provide the money and pay the full amount. She bought the imaginary house of his. The simple guy gave all the money that he earned to the poor neighbors around him right away.

TIME & LOVE

Poet's Lyn Words's avatarWORDSNOW HEART

Do you know that TIME is more important than LOVE?

You know why?

If I give you LOVE but I don’t have TIME, would you believe that I LOVE YOU? Maybe not!

But if I give you time because I love you. I am sure that you believe 100 percent and I am sure on myself too that I love you.

LOVE WITH YOUR HEART

Love doesn’t have to be romantic,

It can be platonic, familial,

Any kind at all

As long as there are multiple hearts involved,

And they beat for the sake of one another,

That is true love

THINK GLOBAL START LOCAL

In the days of Covid-19 when there is no respite and we have to live with it for a greater period of time, I’m seeking ideas for a brighter future of all living species on earth.

I am thinking on how we can contribute to stay safe, live better, become more self reliant, using local products for daily needs, less dependency on foreign goods and to boost our economy.

Many among us might have similar thoughts. Thoughts like what we can do staying home where we are when there is no scope of a new job opportunity. How to become an earning member in the family.

Looking forward to learn from your ideas.

END OF AN ERA

Two legendary actors passed away an week back fighting for life and succumbing to cancer. While Irrfan gave in to colon cancer after a long battle, Rishi followed suit the next day to leukemia.

The news was terrifying and heart breaking at a time when we observe the lockdown period for a not so well known threat which medical science has no answer yet. I heard of cancer as cent percent curable long back but have no belief anymore.

Irrfan was a fellow from the National school of drama and an artist of very different category unlike many youngsters of present day. He had won heart of many by his remarkable performance in both bollywood and hollywood. I still remember his acting in movies like the Jurassic world and Life of Pi. There are many to name in the bollywood film industry like Paan Singh Tomar and recently the angrezi  medium.

Here I convey my heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and my prayers to god to help their souls rest in peace.

Both had a great career in the film industry. I have watched many of their movies in the past. I will recollect those from memory and would like to mention few here that touched my heart.

LET’S FIGHT TOGETHER

Amidst the speculation and probabilities of Covid-19, I am staying home. This nature of this virus is still unknown and there is no definitive cure.

It has taken most of the countries in it’s grip. It has been declared pandemic as it can’t be confined to any boundary as of now.  States imposing curfew and we observe national lockdown for a brief period. Economy slowing down but there is no choice. Economy can bounce back when we stay healthy in a safe environment as health is wealth.

Here I remember an old proverb ‘prevention is better than cure’. Prevention is a choice when there is cure available for a disease. It becomes the only option in the absence of a cure. In present situation we can stay safe only with prevention. So, we must take every measure so as not to be caught by the virus.

There is a need to adopt healthy living standards and do better financial planning for next few months. This virus has the ability to multiply itself and live for a long period even on a non living body like a metal surface.

It can catch any healthy person when the person is exposed to the surrounding environment of already infected people in close proximity. That’s the reason we are now listening terms like quarantine and social distancing.  So, we have to protect ourselves by keeping good distance from such environment.

Let’s understand social distancing well.
This is not to hate people in our neighborhood or treat them as untouchables.  This is high time to become more social than ever before to be in sound mental health alongwith all other fellow human beings. The only need is to keep ourselves in a safe environment and it’s possible when we make the distance required.

To enable this we should stop visiting neighbours and discourage guests coming home at present. This is because the chances of infection are more in a crowded place as we are not aware of the person standing next to us if already infected. It is important to keep in mind that the symptoms of infection do not appear well at first and the infected person may appear very normal in the initial days. So, we may get caught before we actually know about the infected environment unless we keep the distance. So, prevention here is the only option.

There is no restriction on use of social media and phone calls as the virus doesn’t spread using this medium. In fact we should use digital media and all long distance mode of communication staying at home to keep in touch with our dear ones. They need our support. Let’s don’t hate pet animals. They too need our support.

This is family time and we are having great time together. I urge you too do the same with your family. This is challenging time for children and the guardians too. School going children are forced to go in summer vacation in advance. This vacation is going to last for a long time now. In this period we can’t take them outside to public places like children’s park. All sort of entertainment and refreshments has to be inside the boundary wall of our home now. We have to be more innovative how to spend quality time with them at home.

Let’s keep faith and have trust on the system. We will win this battle with a responsible and more disciplined living. Our prayers will not go in vein. Let’s stop all experimentation and try to preserve nature as it was before and naturally created by God. This time will pass and we’ll experience better time in future.
