She fakes bright smiles
like many do,
but unlike them
she remains true.
playing her part
forcing a laugh,
still keeps both eyes
on her own path.

Sometimes she falls
and has breakdowns,
but stands right up
to face the crowd,
she holds the weight
of many worlds,
while being seen
as a plain girl.

If cut she bleeds
like everyone,
but digs the seeds
until hurts gone,
after she leaves
her presence stays,
her soul always
brightens each day.
