National Sports Day is a public holiday celebrated in various countries to honour the national sports teams and sport it ions of those countries. On this day people from different age groups take a part in sports like kabaddi, marathon, basketball, hockey etc.
The National Sports Day in India is celebrated on 29 August, on the birth anniversary of hockey player Major Dhyan Chand. This day marks the birthday of Major Dhyan Chand Singh, the hockey player who won gold medals in Olympics for India in the years 1928, 1932 and 1936. He scored 570 goals in his career, from 1926 to 1949 (according to his autobiography, ‘Goals’).
After putting his stamp on international hockey arena, and having served his country to reach its pinnacles of glory multiple times. He was a legendary figure in the Indian and world hockey. The most noted memorials for him were the Major Dhyan Chand Award ,the highest award for lifetime achievement in sports and games in India, and the National Sports Day celebrations on his birthday. Major Dhyan chand learnt the game of hockey from his coach Pankaj Gupta. There is no one who has reached his level in hockey. The birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand is on 29 August 1905.

We celebrate ‘Raksha Bandhan’ every year. The ritual is observed on the full moon day of the Hindu month of Shravan’. This day is also known as ‘Rakhi Poornima’ or ‘Shravan Poornima’. The word ‘poornima’ means a full moon night. This day has a great significance on everybody’s life. Let’s revisit our history and mythology once more.
HINDU MYTHOLOGY:
Like all Indian festivals, this too has a myriad of stories and legends regarding its origin. Some of these stories can be traced back to Indian mythology and even the puranic times. Raksha Bandhan is also referred to in the epic tale of Mahabharata when Lord Krishna advised Yudhishthir to perform the ceremony to protect himself and his people from war. Kunti (the mother of Pandavas) tied a rakhi to her grandson Abhimanyu and Draupadi tied a rakhi on the wrist of Lord Krishna.
Onam is an annual harvest festival celebrated in the Indian state of Kerala. A major annual event for Keralites, it is the official festival of the state and includes a spectrum of cultural events. Drawing from Hindu mythology, Onam commemorates King Mahabali.
Within the textual tradition (prim. Mahabharata), Mahabali is noted to be an Asura, who found liberation at the feet of Vishnu through charity and religious rectitude. However, there are other interpretations of the same myth-cycle. One version, situated within the Bali tradition, celebrates him as a lower-caste Dravidian who challenged Brahminic hegemony. In the state-sanctioned celebrations, Mahabali is portrayed as a cultural hero: a just and benevolent ruler, he chose to even give up his rule/life for protecting his subjects, and was allowed by Vamana to return once a year.
The festival probably has ancient origins and it became intricately linked with Hindu legends at some later date. The earliest known reference is found in Maturaikkāñci – a Sangam poem – which mentions Onam being celebrated in Madurai temples. Since then, multiple temple inscriptions record celebrations of Onam. The date is based on the Panchangam which falls on the 22nd nakshatra Thiruvonam in the month Chingam of Malayalam calendar, which in Gregorian calendar falls between August–September.
In a neo-liberal India, the festival has been increasingly re-positioned as a tourist event. It has also been subject to multiple political appropriations — Ritty A. Lukose notes that a festival which has been culturally inclusive within the “secular lexicon” of Hinduism is being increasingly turned into an event of exclusivism by Hindu Nationalists.
Muḥarram is the first month of the Islamic calendar. It is one of the four sacred months of the year when warfare is forbidden. It is held to be the second holiest month after Ramadan.
The tenth day of Muharram is known as Ashura. Better known as part of the Mourning of Muharram, Shi’i Muslims mourn the tragedy of Ḥusayn ibn ʿAlī’s family, and Sunni Muslims practice fasting on Ashura.
Muslims mourn the martyrdom of Ḥusayn and his family, honoring the martyrs by prayer and abstinence from joyous events. Shiʿi Muslims eat as little as possible on the Ashura; however, this is not seen as fasting. Alevis fast twelve days, each day for one of the Twelve Imams of Shiʿa Islam, to commemorate and mourn the Imams, as if a very close relative has passed away. Some (excluding children, elderly or sick) don’t eat or drink until zawal (afternoon) as a part of their mourning for Husayn. In addition there is an important ziyarat book, the Ziyarat Ashura about Ḥusayn. In Shiʿism, it is popular to read this ziyarat on this date.
Jubilation by Team India after winning the second test at Lord’s
It’s a memorable win for India today at lord’s (the ‘Mecca of cricket’) that brought lot of cheer and joy for indian cricket fans around the globe.
Cricket is truly an uncertain game where any result possible. It’s very difficult to predict ahead of time. Our team today proved wrong all speculations of a possible draw on the last day when they snatched victory first from a possible loss by setting a decent target for the opposition and then a match that could have ended in a draw.
We played like champions who play for a result rather than indulge in wasteful activity on the ground to kill time and finish the day hoping for a draw. The boys won the mind game too putting pressure on the opposition in every area of the game. It was a big decision to declare the innings on the last day when almost sixty overs play left on the last day.
A different match result was quite possible as enough over allowed to be played by opposition for a teachable target. But we won by 151 runs with almost 8 overs play left on the last day. It was a sheer display of skills by the winning team today. They proved their love for the game and passion to win each game.
This win was a complete team effort where each member had good contribution for the game. What to expect more from a team when the seamers (who are not regular batsmen) set example with the bat. Thanks to rain god for allowing us witness a great game today. There is all win and no loss. We had victory in many fronts like game plan and execution which was flawless today. I am quite certain for this game to be remembered for a long long time to come.

मेरे प्यारे देशवासियों,
आजादी का अमृत महोत्सव, 75वें स्वतंत्रता दिवस पर आप सभी को और विश्वभर में भारत को प्रेम करने वाले, लोकतंत्र को प्रेम करने वाले सभी को बहुत-बहुत शुभकामनाएं।
आज आजादी के इस अमृत महोत्सव के पावन पर्व पर देश अपने सभी स्वातंत्र्य सेनानियों को, राष्ट्र रक्षा में अपने आप को दिनरात खपाने वाले, आहूत करने वाले वीर वीरांगनाओं को आज देश नमन कर रहा है। आजादी को जन आंदोलन बनाने वाले, पूज्य बापू हो, या आजादी के लिए अपना सब कुछ न्यौछावर करने वाले नेताजी सुभाष चंद्र बोस, भगत सिंह, चन्द्रशेखर आजाद, बिस्मिल और अशफाक उल्ला खान जैसे महान क्रांतिवीर हो, झांसी की रानी लक्ष्मीबाई हो, चित्तूर की रानी चेन्नम्मा हो या रानी गाइदिन्ल्यू हो, या असम में मातंगिनी हाजरा का पराक्रम हो, देश के पहले प्रधानमंत्री पंडित नेहरू जी हो, देश को एकजुट राष्ट्र में बदलने वाले सरदार वल्लभ भाई पटेल हो भारत के भविष्य की दिशा निर्धारित करने वाले, रास्ता तय कराने वाले बाबा साहब अंबेडकर सहित देश हर व्यक्ति को, हर व्यक्तित्व को आज याद कर रहा है। देश इन सभी महापुरुषों का ऋणी है।
भारत तो बहुरत्ना वसुंधरा है। आज भारत के हर कोने में, हर कालखंड में अनगिनत लोगों ने जिसके नाम भी शायद इतिहास के तारीख में नहीं होंगे। ऐसे अनगिनत लोगों ने इस राष्ट्र को बनाया भी है, आगे बढ़ाया भी है, मैं ऐसे हर व्यक्तित्व का वंदन करता हूं उनका अभिनंदन करता हूं।
भारत ने सदियों तक मातृभूमि, संस्कृति और आजादी के लिए संघर्ष किया है। गुलामी की कसक, आजादी की ललक इस देश ने सदियों तक कभी छोड़ी नहीं। जय-पराजय आते रहे लेकिन मनमंदिर में बसी हुई आजादी की आकांक्षा को कभी खत्म होने नहीं दी। आज इन सभी संघर्ष के पुरोधा, सदियों के संघर्ष के पुरोधा, उन सबको भी प्रणाम करने का वक्त है और वे प्रणाम के हकदार भी हैं।
कोरोना वैश्विक महामारी, इस महामारी में हमारे डॉक्टर, हमारी nurses, हमारे पैरामेडिकल स्टाफ, हमारे सफाईकर्मी, वैक्सीन बनाने में जुटे हमारे वैज्ञानिक हो, सेवा भावना से जुड़े हुए करोड़ों देशवासी हों, जिन्होंने इस कोरोना के कालखंड में अपना पल-पल जनसेवा में समर्पित किया है। यह भी हम सबके वंदन के अधिकारी है।
आज भी देश के कुछ इलाकों में बाढ़ है, भूस्खलन भी हुए हैं। कुछ पीड़ादायक खबरें भी आती रहती है। कई क्षेत्रों में लोगों की मुश्किल बढ़ गई है। ऐसे समय में केंद्र सरकार हो, राज्य सरकारें हो, सब उनके साथ मुस्तैदी के साथ खड़ी हुई हैं। आज इस आयोजन में, ओलंपिक में भारत में, भारत की युवा पीढ़ी जिसने भारत का नाम रोशन किया है। ऐसे हमारे एथलीट्स, हमारे खिलाड़ी आज हमारे बीच में है।
कुछ यहां हैं, कुछ सामने बैठे हैं। मैं आज देशवासियों को, जो यहां मौजूद हैं उनको भी और जो हिंदुस्तान के कोने-कोने में इस समारोह में मौजूद हैं, उन सबको मैं कहता हूं कि हमारे खिलाड़ियों के सम्मान में आइये कुछ पल तालियां बजाकर के उनका सम्मान करें।
भारत के खेलों का सम्मान, भारत की युवा पीढ़ी का सम्मान, भारत को गौरव दिलाने वाले युवाओं का सम्मान। देश… करोड़ों देशवासी आज तालियों की गड़गड़ाहट के साथ हमारे इन जवानों का, देश की युवा पीढ़ी का गौरव कर रहे हैं, सम्मान कर रहे हैं। एथलीट्स ने विशेष तौर पर… हम ये गर्व कर सकते हैं कि उन्होंने हमारा दिल ही नहीं जीता है, लेकिन उन्होंने आने वाली पीढ़ियों को भी, भारत की युवा पीढ़ी को प्रेरित करने का बहुत बड़ा काम किया है।
मेरे प्यारे देशवासियों,
हम आजादी का जश्न मनाते हैं लेकिन बंटवारे का दर्द आज भी हिन्दुस्तान के सीने को छलनी करता है। ये पिछली शताब्दी की सबसे बड़ी त्रासदी में से एक थी। आजादी के बाद इन लोगों को बहुत ही जल्द भुला दिया गया। कल ही भारत ने एक भावुक निर्णय लिया है। अब से हर वर्ष 14 अगस्त को ‘विभाजन विभिषिका स्मृति दिवस’ के रूप में याद किया जाएगा। जो लोग विभाजन के समय अमानवीय हालात से गुजरे, जिन्होंने अत्याचार सहे, जिन्हें सम्मान के साथ अंतिम संस्कार तक नसीब नहीं हुआ, उन लोगों का हमारी स्मृतियों में जीवित रहना भी उतना ही जरूरी है। आजादी के 75वें स्वतंत्रता दिवस पर विभाजन विभिषिका स्मृति दिवस का तय होना, ऐसे लोगों को हर भारतवासी की तरफ से आदरपूर्वक श्रद्धांजलि है।
मेरे प्यारे देशवासियों,
प्रगति पथ पर बढ़ रहे हमारे देश के सामने और विश्व में पूरी मानव जाति के सामने कोरोना का ये कालखंड बहुत बड़ी चुनौती के रूप में आया है। भारतवासियों ने बहुत संयम, बहुत धैर्य, इसके साथ इस लड़ाई को लड़ा भी है। इस लड़ाई में हमारे सामने अनेक चुनौतियां थीं। लेकिन हर क्षेत्र में हम देशवासियों ने असाधारण गति से काम किया है। हमारे वैज्ञानिकों ने, हमारे उद्यमियों की ताकत का ही परिणाम है कि भारत को वैक्सीन के लिए आज किसी और पर, किसी और देश पर हमें निर्भर नहीं होना। आप कल्पना कीजिए, पलभर सोचिए अगर भारत के पास अपनी वैक्सीन नहीं होती तो क्या होता। पोलियो की वैक्सीन पाने में हमारे कितने साल बीत गये थे ।
इतने बड़े संकट में, जब पूरी दुनिया में महामारी हो, तब हमें वैक्सीन कैसे मिलता। लेकिन भारत को शायद मिलता कि नहीं मिलता और कब मिलता, लेकिन आज गौरव से कह सकते हैं कि दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा वैक्सिनेशन प्रोग्राम हमारे देश में चल रहा है। 54 करोड़ से ज्यादा लोग वैक्सीन डोज लगा चुके हैं। कोविन जैसी ऑनलाइन व्यवस्था, डिजिटल सर्टिफिकेट देने की व्यवस्था आज दुनिया को आकर्षित कर रही है। महामारी के समय भारत जिस तरह से 80 करोड़ देशवासियों को महीनों तक लगातार मुफ्त अनाज देकर के उनके गरीब के घर के चूल्हे को जलते रखा है और यह भी दुनिया के लिए अचरज भी है और चर्चा का विषय भी है। ये बात सही है कि अन्य देशों की तुलना में भारत में कम लोग संक्रमित हुए हैं ये भी सही है कि दुनिया की देशों की जनसंख्या की तुलना में भारत में हम अधिकतम मात्रा में हमारे नागरिकों को बचा सके, लेकिन ये हमारे लिए पीठ थपथपाने का विषय नहीं है। संतोष पाकर के सो जाने का विषय नहीं है। ये कहना कि कोई चुनौती नहीं थी ये हमारे अपने विकास के आगे के रास्तों को बंद करने वाली सोच बन जाएगी।
दुनिया के समृद्ध देशों की तुलना में हमारी व्यवस्थाएं कम हैं, विश्व के पास, समृद्ध देशों के पास जो हैं वो हमारे पास नहीं है। लेकिन इन सारे प्रयासों के बावजूद भी… और दूसरी तरफ हमारे यहां जनसंख्या भी बहुत है। विश्व की तुलना में बहुत जनसंख्या है और हमारी जीवन शैली भी कुछ अलग सी है। सारे प्रयासों के बाद भी कितने ही लोगों को हम बचा नहीं पाए हैं। कितने ही बच्चों के सिर पर कोई हाथ फेरने वाला चला गया। उसे दुलारने, उसकी जिद्द पूरी करने वाला चला गया। ये असहनीय पीड़ा, ये तकलीफ हमेशा साथ रहने वाली है।
मेरे प्यारे देशवासियों,
हर देश की विकास यात्रा में एक समय ऐसा आता है जब देश खुद को नए सिरे से परिभाषित करता है। खुद को नए संकल्पों के साथ आगे बढ़ाता है। भारत की विकास यात्रा में भी आज वो समय आ गया है। 75 वर्ष के अवसर को हमें एक समारोह भर ही सीमित नहीं करना है। हमने नए संकल्पों को आधार बनाना है। नए संकल्पों को लेकर के चल पड़ना है। यहां से शुरू होकर अगले 25 वर्ष की यात्रा जब हम आजादी की शताब्दी मनाएगें नए भारत के इस सृजन का ये अमृत काल है। इस अमृत काल में हमारे संकल्पों की सिद्धि, हमें आजादी के सौ वर्ष तक ले जाएगी। गौरवपूर्ण रूप से ले जाएगी।
अमृत काल का लक्ष्य है, भारत और भारत के नागरिकों के लिए समृद्धि के नए शिखरों का आरोहण। अमृत काल का लक्ष्य है एक ऐसे भारत का निर्माण जहां सुविधाओं का स्तर गावों और शहर को बांटने वाला न हो। अमृत काल का लक्ष्य है एक ऐसे भारत का निर्माण जहां नागरिको के जीवन में सरकार बेवजह दखल न दें। अमृत काल का लक्ष्य है एक ऐसे भारत का निर्माण जहां दुनिया का हर आधुनिक infrastructure हो।
हम किसी से भी कम न हों। यही कोटि-कोटि देशवासियों का संकल्प है। लेकिन संकल्प तब-तक अधूरा होता है जब-तक संकल्प के साथ परिश्रम और पराक्रम की पराकाष्ठा ना हो। इसलिए हमें हमारे सभी संकल्पों को परिश्रम और पराक्रम की पराकाष्ठा करके सिद्ध करके ही रहना होगा और ये सपने, ये संकल्प अपनी सीमाओं के पार सुरक्षित और समृद्ध विश्व के लिये भी प्रभावी योगदान के लिये हैं।
अमृत काल 25 वर्ष का है। लेकिन हमें अपने लक्ष्यों की प्राप्ति के लिये इतना लम्बा इंतजार भी नहीं करना है। हमें अभी से जुट जाना है। हमारे पास गंवाने के लिये एक पल भी नहीं है। यही समय है, सही समय है। हमारे देश को भी बदलना होगा और हमें एक नागरिक के नाते अपने आपको भी बदलना ही होगा। बदलते हुए युग के अनुकूल हमें भी अपने आपको ढालना होगा। सबका साथ, सबका विकास, सबका विश्वास, इसी श्रृद्धा के साथ हम सब जुट चुके हैं। लेकिन आज लाल किले की प्राचीर से आह्वान कर रहा हूं। सबका साथ, सबका विकास, सबका विश्वास और अब सबका प्रयास हमारे हर लक्ष्यों की प्राप्ति के लिये बहुत महत्वपूर्ण है। बीते सात वर्षों में शुरू हुई अनेक योजनाओं का लाभ करोड़ों गरीबों को उनके घर तक पहुंचा है। उज्ज्वला से लेकर आयुष्मान भारत की ताकत आज देश का हर गरीब जानता है। आज सरकारी योजनाओं की गति बढ़ी है। वह निर्धारित लक्ष्यों को प्राप्त कर रही है। पहले की तुलना में हम बहुत तेजी से बहुत आगे बढ़े हैं। लेकिन सिर्फ बात यहां पूरी नहीं होती है। अब हमें सैचुरेशन तक जाना है, पूर्णता तक जाना है। शत-प्रतिशत गांवों में सड़कें हों, शत-प्रतिशत परिवारों के बैंक अकाउंट हो, शत-प्रतिशत लाभार्थियों को आयुष्मान भारत का कार्ड हो, शत-प्रतिशत पात्र व्यक्तियों को उज्ज्वला योजना और गैस कनेक्शन हों। सरकार की बीमा योजना हो, पेंशन योजना हो, आवास योजना से हमें हर उस व्यक्ति को जोड़ना है जो उसके हकदार हैं। शत-प्रतिशत का मूड बनाकर के चलना है। आज तक हमारे यहां कभी उन साथियों के बारे में नहीं सोचा गया जो रेहड़ी लगाते हैं। पटरी पर बैठकर, फुटपाथ पर बैठकर सामान बेचते हैं, ठेला चलाते हैं। अब इन साथियों को स्वनिधि योजना के जरिए बैंकिंग व्यवस्था से जोड़ा जा रहा है।
जैसे हमने बिजली शत् प्रतिशत घरों तक पहुंचाई है, जैसे हमने शत प्रतिशत घरों में शौचालय के निर्माण का प्रामाणिक प्रयास किया, वैसे ही हमे अब योजनाओं के सैचुरेशन का लक्ष्य लेकर के आगे बढ़ना है और इसके लिए हमे समय सीमा बहुत दूर नहीं रखनी है। हमें कुछ ही वर्षो में अपने संकल्पों को साकार करना है।
देश आज हर घर जल मिशन को लेकर के तेजी से काम कर रहा है। मुझे खुशी है कि जल जीवन मिशन के सिर्फ दो वर्ष में साढ़े चार करोड़ से ज्यादा परिवारों को नल से जल मिलना शुरू हो गया है… पाईप से वॉटर मिलना शुरू हो गया है। करोड़ों माताओं-बहनों का आर्शीवाद, यही हमारी पूंजी है। इस शत् प्रतिशत का सबसे बड़ा लाभ ये होता है कि सरकारी योजना के लाभ से कोई वंचित नहीं रहता। जब सरकार ये लक्ष्य बनाकर के चलती है कि हमे समाज की आखिरी पंक्ति में जो व्यक्ति खड़ा है, उस तक पहुंचना है तो न कोई भेदभाव हो पाता है और न ही भ्रष्टाचार की गुंजाइश रहती है।
मेरे प्यारे देशवासियों,
देश के हर गरीब, हर व्यक्ति तक पोषण पहुंचाना भी सरकार की प्राथमिकता है। गरीब महिलाओं, गरीब बच्चों में कुपोषण और जरूरी पौष्टिक पदार्थो की कमी, उनके विकास में बड़ी बाधा बनती है। इसे देखते हुए ये तय किया गया है कि सरकार अपनी अलग-अलग योजनाओं के तहत जो चावल गरीबों को देती है, उसे fortify करेगी। गरीबों को पोषणयुक्त चावल देगी। राशन की दुकान पर मिलने वाला चावल हो, मिड-डे मील में बालकों को मिलने वाला चावल हो, वर्ष 2024 तक हर योजना के माध्यम से मिलने वाला चावल fortify कर दिया जाएगा।
मेरे प्यारे देशवासियों,
आज देश में हर गरीब तक बेहतर स्वास्थ्य सुविधा पहुचाने का अभियान भी तेज गति से चल रहा है। इसके लिए मेडिकल शिक्षा में जरूरी बड़े-बड़े सुधार भी किए गए हैं। Preventive healthcare पर भी उतना ही ध्यान दिया गया है। साथ-साथ देश में मेडिकल सीटों में भी काफी बढ़ोत्तरी की गई है। आयुष्मान भारत योजना के तहत देश के गांव-गांव तक quality स्वास्थ्य सेवाएं पहुंचाई जा रही हैं। जन औषधि योजना के माध्यम से गरीब को, मध्यम वर्ग को सस्ती दवाईयां उपलब्ध कराई जा रही हैं। अभी तक 75 हजार से ज्यादा Health and Wellness centers बनाएं जा चुके हैं। अब ब्लॉक स्तर पर अच्छे अस्पतालों और आधुनिक लैब के नेटवर्क पर विशेष रूप से काम किया जा रहा है। बहुत जल्द देश के हजारों अस्पतालों के पास अपने ऑक्सीजन प्लांट भी होंगे।
मेरे प्यारे देशवासियों,
21वीं सदी में भारत को नई उंचाई पर पहुंचाने के लिए भारत के सामर्थ्य का सही इस्तेमाल… पूरा इस्तेमाल, ये समय की मांग है।
बहुत जरूरी है। इसके लिए जो वर्ग पीछे हैं, जो क्षेत्र पीछे हैं, उनकी hand-holding करनी ही होगी। मूलभूत जरूरतों की चिंता के साथ ही दलितों, पिछड़ों, आदिवासियों, सामान्य वर्ग के गरीबों के लिए आरक्षण सुनिश्चित किया जा रहा है। अभी हाल ही में मेडिकल शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में, ऑल इंडिया कोटे में ओबीसी वर्ग को आरक्षण की व्यवस्था भी की गई है। संसद में कानून बनाकर ओबीसी से जुड़ी सूची बनाने का अधिकार राज्यों को दे दिया गया है।
मेरे प्यारे देशवासियों,
जैसे हम ये सुनिश्चित कर रहे हैं कि समाज की विकास यात्रा में कोई व्यक्ति न छूटें, कोई वर्ग न छूटे, वैसे ही देश का कोई भू-भाग, देश का कोई कोना भी पीछे नहीं छूटना चाहिए। विकास सर्वांगीण होना चाहिए, विकास सर्वस्पर्शी होना चाहिए, विकास सर्वसमावेशक होना चाहिए। देश के ऐसे क्षेत्रों को आगे लाने के लिए पिछले सात वर्षों में जो प्रयास किए गए हैं, अब उसे और तेजी देने की दिशा में हम आगे बढ़ रहे हैं। हमारा पूर्वी भारत, North-east, जम्मू-कश्मीर, लद्दाख सहित पूरा हिमालय का क्षेत्र हो, हमारी कोस्टल बेल्ट या फिर आदिवासी अंचल हो, यह भविष्य में भारत के विकास का, भारत की विकास यात्रा का बहुत बड़ा आधार बनने वाले हैं।
आज North-east में connectivity का नया इतिहास लिखा जा रहा है। ये connectivity दिलों की भी है और infrastructure की भी है। बहुत जल्द North-east के सभी राज्यों की राजधानियों को रेल सेवा से जोड़ने का काम पूरा होने वाला है। Act-East Policy के तहत आज North-east, बांग्लादेश, म्यांमार और दक्षिण-पूर्वी एशिया से भी connect हो रहा है। बीते वर्षों में जो प्रयास हुए हैं, उसकी वजह से अब North-east में स्थायी शांति के लिए, श्रेष्ठ भारत के निर्माण के लिए उत्साह अनेक गुना बढ़ा हुआ है।
North-east से… वहां पर tourism, adventure sports, organic farming, herbal medicine, oil pump, इसका potential बहुत बड़ी मात्रा में है। हमें पूरी तरह इस potential को निखारना होगा, देश की विकास यात्रा का हिस्सा बनाना होगा। और हमें यह काम अमृतकाल के कुछ दशक में ही पूरा करना है। सभी के सामर्थ्य को उचित अवसर देना यही लोकतंत्र की असली भावना है। जम्मू हो या कश्मीर, विकास का संतुलन अब ज़मीन पर दिख रहा है।
जम्मू-कश्मीर में ही delimitation कमीशन का गठन हो चुका है और भविष्य में विधानसभा चुनावों के लिए भी तैयारियां चल रही हैं। लद्दाख भी विकास की अपनी असीम संभावनाओं की तरफ आगे बढ़ चला है। एक तरफ लद्दाख आधुनिक infrastructure का निर्माण होते देख रहा है तो वहीं दूसरी तरफ सिंधु सेंट्रल यूनिवर्सिटी लद्दाख को उच्च शिक्षा का, higher education का केंद्र भी बना रही है।
21वीं सदी के इस दशक में, भारत Blue Economy के अपने प्रयासों को और तेजी देगा। हमें aquaculture के साथ-साथ seaweed की खेती में जो नई संभावना बन रही है, उन संभावनाओं का भी पूरा लाभ उठाना है। Deep Ocean Mission समंदर की असीम संभावनाओं को तलाशने की हमारी महत्वाकांक्षा का परिणाम है। जो खनिज संपदा समंदर में छिपी हुई है, जो thermal energy समंदर के पानी में है, वो देश के विकास को नई बुलंदी दे सकती है।
देश के जिन जिलों के लिए ये माना गया था कि ये पीछे रह गए, हमने उनकी आकांक्षाओं को भी जगाया है। देश में 110 से अधिक आकांक्षी जिले, Aspirational Districts में शिक्षा, स्वास्थ्य, पोषण, सड़क, रोजगार से जुड़ी योजनाओं को प्राथमिकता दी जा रही है। इनमें से अनेक जिले हमारे आदिवासी अंचल में हैं। हमने इन जिलों के बीच विकास की एक तंदरुस्त स्पर्धा का एक उत्साह पैदा किया है। ये आकांक्षी जिले भारत के अन्य जिलों की बराबरी तक पहुंचें, उस दिशा में तेज स्पर्धा चल रही है।
मेरे प्यारे देशवासियों,
अर्थजगत में पूंजीवाद और समाजवाद इसकी चर्चा तो बहुत होती है, लेकिन भारत सहकारवाद पर भी बल देता है। सहकारवाद, हमारी परम्परा, हमारे संस्कारों के भी अनुकूल है। सहकारवाद, जिसमें जनता-जनार्दन की सामूहिक शक्ति अर्थव्यवस्था की चालक शक्ति के रूप में driving force बने, ये देश के grassroots level की economy के लिए एक अहम क्षेत्र है। Co-operatives, ये सिर्फ कानून-नियमों के जंजाल वाली एक व्यवस्था नहीं है, बल्कि co-operative एक spirit है, co-operative एक संस्कार है, co-operative एक सामूहिक चलने की मन:प्रवृत्ति है। उनका सशक्तिकरण हो, इसके लिए हमने अलग मंत्रालय बनाकर इस दिशा में कदम उठाए हैं और राज्यों के अंदर जो सहकारी क्षेत्र है, उसको जितना ज्यादा बल दे सकें, वो बल देने के लिए हमने ये कदम उठाया है।
मेरे प्यारे देशवासियों,
इस दशक में हमें गांवों में नई अर्थव्यवस्था के निर्माण के लिए पूरी शक्ति लगानी होगी। आज हम अपने गांवों को तेजी से परिवर्तित होते देख रहे हैं। बीते कुछ वर्ष, गांवों तक सड़क और बिजली की सुविधाओं को पहुंचाने के रहे थे। वो पूरा कालखंड हमारा रहा। लेकिन अब इन गांवों को optical fiber network data की ताकत पहुंच रही है, इंटरनेट पहुंच रहा है। गांव में भी digital entrepreneur तैयार हो रहे हैं। गांव में जो हमारी Self-Help Group से जुड़ी 8 करोड़ से अधिक बहनें हैं, वो एक से बढ़कर एक products बनाती हैं। इनके products को देश में और विदेश में बड़ा बाजार मिले, इसके लिए अब सरकार e-commerce platform भी तैयार करेगी।
आज जब देश vocal for local के मंत्र के साथ आगे बढ़ रहा है तो यह digital platform महिला Self-Help Group के उत्पादों को देश के दूर-दराज के क्षेत्रों में भी और विदेशों में भी लोगों से जोड़ेगा और उनका फलक बहुत विस्तृत होगा। कोरोना के दौरान देश ने Technology की ताकत, हमारे वैज्ञानिकों का सामर्थ्य और उनकी प्रतिबद्धता को देखा है। देश के हर क्षेत्र में हमारे देश के वैज्ञानिक बहुत सूझ-बूझ से काम कर रहे हैं। अब समय आ गया है कि हम अपने कृषि क्षेत्र में भी वैज्ञानिकों की क्षमताओं और उनके सुझावों को भी हमारे एग्रीकल्चर सेक्टर में जोड़े। अब हम ज्यादा इंतजार नहीं कर सकते हैं और हमें इसका पूरा लाभ भी उठाना है। इससे देश को खाद्य सुरक्षा देने के साथ फल, सब्जियां और अनाज का उत्पादन बढ़ाने में बहुत बड़ी मदद मिलेगी और हम विश्व तक पहुंचने के लिए अपने आप को मजबूती से आगे बढ़ाएंगे।
इन प्रयासों के बीच कृषि सेक्टर की एक बड़ी चुनौती की भी ओर ध्यान देना है। ये चुनौती है, गांवों के लोगों के पास कम होती जमीन, बढ़ती हुई आबादी के साथ… परिवार में जो बंटवारे हो रहे हैं उसकी वजह से किसानों की जमीन छोटी, छोटी, छोटी से छोटी होती जा रही है। देश के 80 प्रतिशत से ज्यादा किसान ऐसे हैं जिनके पास दो हेक्टयर से भी कम जमीन है। अगर हम देखे तो 100 में से 80 किसान उनके पास दो हेक्टयर से भी कम जमीन यानी देश का किसान एक प्रकार से छोटा किसान है। पहले जो देश में नीतियां बनीं उनमें इन छोटे किसानों को जितनी प्राथमिकता देनी चाहिए थी, उन पर जितना ध्यान केंद्रित करना चाहिए था वो रह गया। अब देश में इन्हीं छोटे किसानों को ध्यान में रखते हुए कृषि सुधार किए जा रहे हैं, निर्णय लिए जा रहे हैं।
फसल बीमा योजना में सुधार हो, एमएसपी को डेढ़ गुना करने का बड़ा महत्वपूर्ण निर्णय हो, छोटे किसानों को किसान क्रेडिट कार्ड से सस्ते दर से बैंक से कर्ज मिलने की व्यवस्था हो, सोलर पावर से जुड़ी योजनाएं खेत तक पहुंचाने की बात हो, किसान उत्पादक संगठन हो… ये सारे प्रयास छोटे किसान की ताकत बढ़ाएंगे। आने वाले समय में ब्लॉक लेवल तक warehouse की facility create करने का भी अभियान चलाया जाएगा। हर छोटे किसानों के छोटे-छोटे खर्च को ध्यान में रखते हुए पीएम किसान सम्मान निधि योजना चलाई जा रही है। दस करोड़ से अधिक किसान परिवारों के बैंक खातों में अब-तक डेढ़ लाख करोड़ से ज्यादा रकम सीधे उनके खातों में जमा करा दी गई है। छोटा किसान अब हमारे लिए हमारा मंत्र है, हमारा संकल्प है। छोटा किसान बने देश की शान…. छोटा किसान बने देश की शान। ये हमारा सपना है। आने वाले वर्षों में हमें देश के छोटे किसानों की सामूहिक शक्ति को और बढ़ाना होगा। नई सुविधाएं देनी होंगी। आज देश के 70 से ज्यादा रेल रूटों पर, किसान रेल चल रही है।
किसान रेल छोटे किसानों को अपने उत्पाद का कम कीमत, ट्रांसपोर्टेशन का खर्चा कम हो, इस पर दूर दराज के इलाकों में इस आधुनिक सुविधा के साथ अपने उत्पाद पहुंचा सकता है। कमलम हो या शाही लीची, bhut jolokia मिर्च हो या काला चावल या हल्दी अनेकों उत्पाद दुनिया के अलग-अलग देशों में भेजे जा रहे हैं। आज देश को खुशी होती है जब भारत की मिट्टी में पैदा हुई चीजों की सुगंध दुनिया के अलग-अलग देशों तक पहुंच रही है। भारत के खेत से निकली सब्जियां और खाद्यान से आज दुनिया का taste बन रहा है।
मेरे प्यारे देशवासियों,
कैसे आज गांवों के सामर्थ्य को बनाया जा रहा है। उसका एक उदाहरण है स्वामित्व योजना। हम सब जानते हैं कि गांवों में जमीन की कीमत का क्या हाल होता है। जमीन पर उनको बैंकों से कोई कर्ज नहीं मिलता है, खुद जमीन के मालिक होने के बावजूद भी। क्योंकि गांवों में जमीनों के कागज पर कई-कई पीढ़ियों से कोई काम नहीं हुआ है। लोगों के पास इसकी व्यवस्था नहीं है। इस स्थिति को बदलने का काम आज स्वामित्व योजना कर रही है। आज गांव-गांव हर एक घर की, हर जमीन की, ड्रोन के जरिए मैपिंग हो रही है। गांव की जमीनों के डेटा और सम्पत्ति के कागज ऑनलाइन अपलोड हो रहे हैं। इससे ना सिर्फ गांवों में जमीन से जुड़े विवाद समाप्त हो रहे हैं बल्कि गांव के लोगों को बैंक से आसानी से लोन भी मिलने की व्यवस्था निर्माण हुई है। गांव गरीब की जमीनें विवाद का नहीं, विकास का आधार बने, देश आज इस दिशा में बढ़ रहा है।
मेरे प्यारे देशवासियों,
स्वामी विवेकानंद जी जब भारत के भविष्य की बात करते थे, अपनी आंखों के सामने मां भारती की भव्यता का जब वो दर्शन करते थे तब वो कहते थे- जहां तक हो सके, अतीत की ओर देखो। पीछे जो चिर नूतन झरना बह रहा है, आकंठ उसका जल पियो और उसके बाद, देखिए स्वामी विवेकानंद जी की विशेषता, उसके बाद सामने की ओर देखो। आगे बढ़ो और भारत को पहले से भी कही ज्यादा उज्ज्वल, महान, श्रेष्ठ बनाओ। आजादी के इस 75वें वर्ष में हमारा दायित्व है कि अब हम देश के असीम सामर्थ्य पर विश्वास करते हुए आगे बढ़े। हमें मिलकर काम करना होगा नए जेनरेशन इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर के लिए, हमें मिलकर काम करना होगा वर्ल्ड क्लास मैन्यूफैक्चरिंग के लिए, हमें मिलकर काम करना होगा कटिंग edge innovations के लिए, हमें मिलकर काम करना होगा न्यू ऐज technology के लिए।
मेरे प्यारे देशवासियों,
आधुनिक विश्व में प्रगति की बुनियाद, आधुनिक infrastructure पर खड़ी होती है। यह मध्यमवर्ग की आवश्यकताओं, आकांक्षाओं की भी पूर्ति करते हैं। कमजोर infrastructure का बहुत बड़ा नुकसान विकास की गति को भी होता है। शहरी मध्यम वर्ग को भी होता है।
मेरे प्यारे देशवासियों,
इसी बात को समझते हुए जल, थल, नभ, हर क्षेत्र में देश ने असाधारण स्पीड और स्केल पर काम करके दिखाया है। नए जलमार्ग, वाटरवेज हों, नए-नए स्थानों को सी प्लेन से जोड़ना हो, देश में बहुत तेजी से काम चल रहा है। भारतीय रेलवे भी तेजी से आधुनिक अवतार में ढल रही है। देश ने संकल्प लिया है कि आजादी के अमृत महोत्सव के, आपको मालूम होगा कि हमने आजादी के अमृत महोत्सव को 75 सप्ताह तक मनाना तय किया है। 12 मार्च से शुरू हुआ है और 2023, 15 अगस्त तक इसको चलाना है, उत्साह से आगे बढ़ना है। इसलिए देश ने एक बहुत महत्वपूर्ण फैसला लिया है। आजादी के अमृत महोत्सव के 75 सप्ताह में, 75 सप्ताह में 75 वंदे भारत ट्रेनें देश के हर कोने को आपस में जोड़ करके रहेंगी। आज जिस गति से देश में नए एयरपोर्ट का निर्माण हो रहा है, उड़ान योजना दूरदराज के इलाकों को जोड़ रही है, यह अभूतपूर्व है।आज हम देख रहे हैं कि कैसे बेहतर Air Connectivity लोगों के सपनों को नई उड़ान देती है।
मेरे प्यारे देशवासियों,
भारत को आधुनिक infrastructure के साथ ही infrastructure निर्माण में holistic approach, integrated approach अपनाने की बहुत जरूरत है। आने वाले कुछ ही समय में हम करोड़ों देशवासियों का सपना पूरा करने वाली एक बहुत बड़ी योजना, प्रधानमंत्री गतिशक्ति का national master plan देश के सामने लेकर आने वाले हैं। उसको लॉन्च करने वाले हैं। सौ लाख करोड़ से भी अधिक की यह योजना लाखों नौजवानों के लिए रोजगार के नए अवसर लेकर आने वाली है। गतिशक्ति हमारे देश के लिए एक ऐसा national infrastructure master plan होगा जो holistic infrastructure की नींव रखेगा। हमारी economy को एक integrated और holistic pathway देगा। अभी हम देखते हैं कि हमारे ट्रांसपोर्ट के साधनों में कोई तालमेल नहीं होता। गतिशक्ति silos को तोड़ेगी। भविष्य के रास्ते से इन सब रोड़ों को, साथ ही और भी जितनी कठिनाई हैं, उनको हटाएगी। इससे सामान्य मानवी के लिए ट्रैवल टाइम में कमी आएगी और हमारी industry की productivity और भी बढ़ेगी। गतिशक्ति हमारे local manufacturers को globaly competitive करने में भी बहुत बड़ी मदद करेगी और इससे future Economic Zones के निर्माण की नई संभावनाएं भी विकसित होगी। अमृतकाल के इस दशक में गति की शक्ति भारत के कायाकल्प का आधार बनेगी।
मेरे प्यारे देशवासियों,
विकास के पथ पर आगे बढ़ते हुए भारत को अपनी manufacturing और export दोनों को बढ़ाना होगा। आपने देखा है, अभी कुछ दिन पहले ही भारत ने अपने पहले स्वदेशी Aircraft Carrier INS विक्रांत को समुद्र में trial के लिए उतारा है। भारत आज अपना लड़ाकू विमान बना रहा है, अपनी Submarine बना रहा है। गगनयान भी अंतरिक्ष में भारत का परचम लहराने के लिए तैयार हो रहा है। ये स्वदेशी manufacturing में हमारे सामर्थ्य को उजागर करता है।
कोरोना के बाद उभरी नई आर्थिक परिस्थितियों में Make in India को स्थापित करने के लिए देश ने Production Linked Incentive की भी घोषणा की है। इस scheme से जो बदलाव आ रहा है, उसका उदाहरण electronic manufacturing sector से है। सात साल पहले हम लगभग आठ बिलियन डॉलर के मोबाइल फोन import यानी आयात करते थे। अब import तो बहुत ज्यादा घटा है, आज हम तीन बिलियन डॉलर के मोबाइल फोन export भी कर रहे हैं।
आज जब हमारे manufacturing sector को गति मिल रही है तो हमें ये ध्यान रखना है कि हम भारत में जो बनाएं, उससे हम best quality के साथ ग्लोबल competition में टिकें और हो सके तो एक कदम आगे बढ़ें, यह तैयारी करनी है और ग्लोबल मार्केट को हमें target करना है। देश के सभी manufacturers को मैं आग्रहपर्वूक कहना चाहता हूं, हमारे manufacturers को इस बात को कभी नहीं भूलना होगा कि आप जो product बाहर बेचते हैं, वो सिर्फ आपकी कंपनी के द्वारा बनाया हुआ सिर्फ एक पुर्जा नहीं है, एक product नहीं है, उसके साथ भारत की पहचान जुड़ी होती है, भारत की प्रतिष्ठा जुड़ी होती है, भारत के कोटि-कोटि लोगों का विश्वास जुड़ा होता है।
मेरे प्यारे देशवासियो,
मैं इसलिए manufacturers को कहता हूं, आपका हर एक product भारत का brand ambassador है। जब तक वो product इस्तेमाल में लाया जाता रहेगा, उसे खरीदने वाला कहेगा, बड़े गर्व से कहेगा, सीना तान करके कहेगा – हां यह Made In India है। ये मिजाज चाहिए। अब आपके मन में दुनिया के मार्केट में छा जाने का सपना होना चाहिए। इस सपने को पूरा करने के लिए सरकार हर तरह से आपके साथ खड़ी है।
मेरे प्यारे देशवासियों,
आज देश के अलग-अलग सेक्टर और देश के छोटे शहरों में भी, tier 2, tier 3 cities में भी नये-नये start-up बन रहे हैं। उनकी, भारतीय products को अंतर्राज्यीय बाजार में जाने में बड़ी भूमिका भी है। सरकार अपने इन start-ups के साथ, पूरी ताकत के साथ खड़ी है। उन्हें आर्थिक मदद देनी हो, Tax में छूट देनी हो, उनके लिए नियमों को सरल बनाना हो, सब कुछ किया जा रहा है। हमने देखा है कोरोना के इस कठिन काल में ही हजारों- हजारों नये start-ups उभर करके आए हैं। बड़ी सफलता से वे आगे बढ़ रहे हैं। कल के startup आज के unicorn बन रहे हैं। इनकी market value हजारों करोड़ रुपये तक पहुंच रही है।
ये देश में नए प्रकार के wealth creators हैं। ये अपने unique ideas की शक्ति से अपने पैरों पर खड़े हो रहे हैं, आगे बढ़ रहे हैं और दुनिया में छा जाने का सपना ले करके चल रहे हैं। इस दशक में भारत के Startups, भारत के Startup Ecosystem, इसको हम पूरी दुनिया में सर्वश्रेष्ठ बनाएं, हमें इस दिशा में काम करना है, हमें रुकना नहीं है।
मेरे प्यारे देशवासियों,
बड़े परिवर्तन लाने के लिए, बड़े Reform के लिए, राजनीतिक इच्छाशक्ति, political will की जरूरत होती है। आज दुनिया देख रही है कि भारत में राजनीतिक इच्छाशक्ति की कोई कमी नहीं है। Reforms को लागू करने के लिए Good और Smart Governance चाहिए। आज दुनिया इस बात की भी साक्षी है कि कैसे भारत अपने यहां Governance का नया अध्याय लिख रहा है। अमृतकाल के इस दशक में हम next generation reforms को…और उसमें हमारी प्राथमिकता होगी नागरिकों को जो कुछ मिलना चाहिए, जो सर्विस डिलीवरी है, वो last mile तक, last व्यक्ति तक seamlessly, बिना झिझक, बिना कठिनाई से उसको पहुंचे। देश के समग्र विकास के लिए लोगों के जीवन में सरकार और सरकारी प्रक्रियाओं का बेवजह दखल समाप्त करना ही होगा।
पहले के समय सरकार खुद ही ड्राइविंग सीट पर बैठ गई थी। ये उस समय की शायद मांग रही होगी। लेकिन अब समय बदल चुका है। बीते सात वर्षों में देश में इसके लिए प्रयास भी बढ़ा है कि देश के लोगों को अनावश्यक कानूनों के जाल, अनावश्यक प्रक्रियाओं के जाल से मुक्ति दिलाई जाए। अब तक देश के सैंकड़ों पुराने कानूनों को समाप्त किया जा चुका है। कोरोना के इस कालखंड में भी सरकार ने 15 हजार से ज्यादा compliances को समाप्त किया है। अब आप देखिए, आपको भी अनुभव होगा कोई एक छोटा सरकारी काम हो, ढेर सारे कागज, बार-बार कागज, एक ही जानकारी अनेक बार, यही चलता रहा है। 15 हजार compliances को हमने खत्म किया है।
आप सोचिए, 200 साल पहले…एक उदाहरण मैं देना चाहता हूं, 200 साल पहले हमारे यहां एक कानून चला आ रहा है…200 साल यानी 1857 से भी पहले से, जिसकी वजह से देश के नागरिक को mapping यानी नक्शा बनाने की स्वतंत्रता नहीं थी। अब विचार कीजिए, 1857 से चल रहा है…नक्शा बनाना है तो सरकार को पूछिए, नक्शा किसी किताब में छापना है तो सरकार से पूछिए, नक्शा खो जाने पर गिरफ्तारी का भी उसमें प्रावधान है। आजकल हर फोन में map का App है। सैटेलाइट की इतनी ताकत है कि फिर ऐसे कानूनों का बोझ सिर पर लेकर देश को आगे कैसे बढ़ाएंगे हम! Compliances का ये बोझ उतरना बहुत जरूरी है। Mapping की बात हो, Space की बात हो, Information Technology की बात हो, BPO की बात हो, जैसे अनेक सेक्टरों में बहुत सारे regulations को हमने समाप्त कर दिया है।
मेरे प्यारे देशवासियो,
बेवजह के कानूनों की जकड़ से मुक्ति Ease of Living साथ-साथ Ease of Doing Business दोनों के लिए बहुत ही जरूरी है। हमारे देश के उद्योग और व्यापार आज इस बदलाव को महसूस कर रहे हैं।
आज दर्जनों श्रम कानून सिर्फ 4 कोड में समा चुके हैं। टैक्स से जुड़ी व्यवस्थाओं को भी अब आसान और faceless किया गया है। इस तरह के reform सिर्फ सरकार तक सीमित न रहे बल्कि ग्राम पंचायत और नगर निगमों, नगरपालिकाओं तक पहुंचे, इस पर देश की हर व्यवस्था को मिलकर के काम करना होगा। मैं आज आवाह्न कर रहा हूं और बड़े आग्रह से कर रहा हूं, केंद्र हो या राज्य सभी के विभागों से मैं कह रहा हूं, सभी सरकारी कार्यालयों से कह रहा हूं। अपने यहां नियमों और प्रक्रियाओं की समीक्षा का अभियान चलाइए। हर वो नियम, हर वो प्रक्रिया जो देश के लोगों के सामने बाधा बनकर, बोझ बनकर खड़ी हुई है उसे हमें दूर करना ही होगा। मुझे पता है, जो ये 70-75 साल में जमा हुआ है वो एक दिन में या एक साल में नहीं जाएगा। लेकिन मन बनाकर काम शुरू करेंगे तो हम ऐसा जरूर कर पाएंगे।

इसी सोच के साथ सरकार ने bureaucracy में people centric approach बढ़ाने, efficiency बढ़ाने के लिए सरकार ने मिशन कर्मयोगी और Capacity Building Commission की शुरूआत भी की है।
मेरे प्यारे देशवासियो,
कौशल और सामर्थ्य से भरे, अपनी मिट्टी के लिए कुछ कर गुजरने की भावना से भरे नौजवानों को तैयार करने में भूमिका होती है… किसकी होती है… बड़ी भूमिका होती है- हमारी शिक्षा की, हमारी शिक्षा व्यवस्था की, हमारी शिक्षा परंपरा की। आज देश के पास 21वीं सदी की जरूरतों को पूरा करने वाली नई राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति भी है। अब हमारे बच्चे न कौशल की कमी के कारण रूकेंगे और न ही भाषा की सीमा में बधेंगे। दुर्भाग्य से हमारे देश में भाषा को लेकर एक बड़ा विभाजन पैदा हो गया है। भाषा की वजह से हमने देश के बहुत बड़े talent को पिंजरे में बांध दिया है। मातृ-भाषा में होनहार लोग मिल सकते हैं। मातृ-भाषा में पढ़े हुए लोग आगे आएंगे तो उनका आत्मविश्वास और बढ़ेगा। जब गरीब की बेटी, गरीब का बेटा मातृ-भाषा में पढ़कर professional बनेंगे, तो उनके सामर्थ्य के साथ न्याय होगा।
नई राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति में गरीबी के खिलाफ लड़ाई का साधन भाषा है, ऐसा मैं मानता हूं। ये नई राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति भी एक प्रकार से गरीबी के खिलाफ लड़ाई लड़ने का एक बहुत बड़ा शस्त्र बनकर के काम आने वाला है। गरीबी से जंग जीतने का आधार भी मातृ-भाषा की शिक्षा है, मातृ-भाषा की प्रतिष्ठा है, मातृ-भाषा का महात्मय है। देश ने देखा है खेल के मैदान में… और हम अनुभव कर रहे हैं, भाषा रूकावट नहीं बनी और उसका परिणाम देखा है कि युवा हमारे खिलने लगे हैं, खेल भी रहे हैं, खिल भी रहे हैं। अब ऐसा ही जीवन के अन्य मैदानों में भी होगा।
नई राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति उसकी एक और विशेष बात है, इसमें sports को extra-curricular की जगह mainstream पढ़ाई का हिस्सा बनाया गया है। जीवन को आगे बढ़ाने में जो भी प्रभावी माध्यम हैं उनमें एक sports भी है। जीवन में संपूर्णता के लिए, जीवन में खेलकूद होना, sports होना बहुत आवश्यक है। एक समय था जब खेल-कूद को मुख्यधारा नहीं समझा जाता था। मां-बाप भी बच्चों से कहते थे कि खेलते ही रहोगे तो जीवन बर्बाद कर लोगे। अब देश में फिटनेस को लेकर स्पोर्टस को लेकर एक जागरूकता आई है। इस बार ओलंपिक में भी हमने देखा है, हमने अनुभव किया है। ये बदलाव हमारे देश के लिए एक बहुत बड़ा turning point है। इसलिये आज देश में खेलों में talent, technology और professionalism लाने के लिए जो अभियान चल रहा है इस दशक में हमें उसे और तेज करना है और व्यापक करना है।
ये देश के लिए गौरव की बात है कि शिक्षा हो या खेल, बोर्डस के नतीजे हों या ओलंपिक का मैदान हमारी बेटियां आज अभूतपूर्व प्रदर्शन कर रहीं हैं। आज भारत की बेटियां अपना स्पेस लेने के लिए आतुर हैं। हमें ये सुनिश्चित करना है कि हर कैरियर और कार्यक्षेत्र में महिलाओं की समान सहभागिता हो। हमें ये सुनिश्चित करना है कि सड़क से लेकर वर्कप्लेस तक, हर जगह पर महिलाओं में सुरक्षा का अहसास हो। सम्मान का भाव हो इसके लिए देश के शासन-प्रशासन को, पुलिस और न्याय व्यवस्था को, नागरिकों को अपनी शत-प्रतिशत जिम्मेदारी निभानी है। इस संकल्प को हमें आजादी के 75 साल का संकल्प बनाना है।
आज मैं ये खुशी देशवासियों से साझा कर रहा हूं। मुझे लाखो बेटियों के संदेश मिलते थे कि वो भी सैनिक स्कूल में पढ़ना चाहती हैं। उनके लिये भी सैनिक स्कूल के दरवाजे खोले जाएं। दो-ढाई साल पहले मिजोरम के सैनिक स्कूल में पहली बार बेटियों को प्रवेश देने का हमने एक छोटा सा प्रयोग प्रारंभ किया था। अब सरकार ने तय किया है कि देश के सभी सैनिक स्कूलों को देश की बेटियों के लिये भी खोल दिया जायेगा। देश के सभी सैनिक स्कूलों में अब बेटियां भी पढ़ेंगी।
विश्व में national security का जितना महत्व है वैसा ही महत्व environment security को दिया जाने लगा है। भारत आज environmental security की एक मुखर आवाज है। आज biodiversity हो या land neutrality, climate change हो या waste recycling, organic farming हो या biogas हो, energy conservation हो या clean energy transition. पर्यावरण की दिशा में भारत के प्रयास आज परिणाम दे रहे हैं। भारत ने वनक्षेत्र को या फिर नेशनल पार्क की संख्या, बाघों की संख्या और एशियाटिक लायन, सभी में वृद्धि हर देशवासी के लिए खुशी की बात है।
मेरे प्यारे देशवासियों,
भारत की इन सफलताओं के बीच एक और सच को भी हमें समझना होगा। भारत आज energy independent नहीं है। भारत आज Energy Import के लिए सालाना 12 लाख करोड़ रुपए से भी अधिक खर्च करता है। भारत की प्रगति के लिए, आत्मनिर्भर भारत बनाने के लिए भारत का energy Independent होना समय की मांग है, अनिवार्य है। इसलिए आज भारत को ये संकल्प लेना होगा कि हम आजादी के 100 साल पूरे होने से पहले भारत को Energy Independent बनाएंगे और इसके लिए हमारा रोडमैप बहुत स्पष्ट है। Gas Based Economy हो, देशभर में CNG, PNG का नेटवर्क हो, 20 प्रतिशत इथेनॉल ब्लैंडिंग का टारगेट हो, भारत एक तय लक्ष्य के साथ आगे बढ़ रहा है। भारत ने Electric Mobility की तरफ भी कदम बढ़ाया है और रेलवे के शत प्रतिशत Electrification पर भी काम तेज गति से आगे बढ़ रहा है। भारतीय रेलवे ने 2030 तक Net Zero Carbon Emitter बनने का लक्ष्य रखा है। इन सारे प्रयासों के साथ ही देश Mission Circular Economy पर भी बल दे रहा है। हमारी Vehicle Scrap Policy इसका एक बड़ा उदाहरण है। आज जी-20 देशों का जो समूह है, उसमें भारत एकमात्र देश ऐसा है, जो अपने climate Goals को प्राप्त करने की दिशा में तेजी से आगे बढ़ रहा है।
भारत ने इस दशक के अंत तक Renewable Energy के 450 गीगावाट का लक्ष्य तय किया है। 2030 तक 450 गीगावाट। इसमें से 100 गीगावाट के लक्ष्य को भारत ने तय समय से पहले हासिल कर लिया है। हमारे ये प्रयास दुनिया को भी एक भरोसा दे रहे हैं। ग्लोबल स्टेट पर International Solar Alliance का गठन इसका बड़ा उदाहरण है। भारत आज जो भी कार्य कर रहा है। उसमें सबसे बड़ा लक्ष्य है जो भारत को क्लाइमेट के क्षेत्र में quantum jump देने वाला है, वो है Green Hydrogen का क्षेत्र। Green Hydrogen के क्षेत्र के लक्ष्य की प्राप्ति के लिए मैं आज इस तिरंगे की साक्षी में National Hydrogen Mission की घोषणा कर रहा हूं। अमृत काल में हमे भारत को Green Hydrogen के production और export का global hub बनाना है। ये उर्जा के क्षेत्र में भारत की एक नई प्रगति को आत्मनिर्भर बनाएगा और पूरे विश्व में clean energy transition की नई प्रेरणा भी बनेगा। Green Growth से Green Job के नए-नए अवसर हमारे युवाओं के लिए हमारे स्टार्टअप्स के लिए आज दस्तक दे रहे हैं।
मेरे प्यारे देशवासियो,
21वीं सदी का आज का भारत बड़े लक्ष्य गढ़ने और उन्हें प्राप्त करने की साम्थर्य रखता है। आज भारत उन विषयों को भी हल कर रहा है, जिनके सुलझने का दशकों से, सदियों से इंतजार था। Article 370 को बदलने का ऐतिहासिक फैसला हो, देश को टैक्स के जाल से मुक्ति दिलाने वाली व्यवस्था- जीएसटी हो, हमारे फौजी साथियों के लिए ‘वन रैंक-वन पेंशन’ का निर्णय हो, राम जन्मभूमि, देश का शांतिपूर्ण समाधान यह सब हमने बीते कुछ वर्षों में सच होते देखा है।
त्रिपुरा में दशकों बाद ब्रू-रियांग समझौता होना हो, ओबीसी कमीशन को संवैधानिक दर्जा देना हो या फिर जम्मू-कश्मीर में आजादी के बाद पहली बार बीडीसी और डीडीसी चुनाव, भारत की संकल्प शक्ति लगातार सिद्ध कर रहे हैं।
आज कोरोना के इस दौर में, भारत में रिकॉर्ड विदेशी निवेश आ रहा है। भारत का विदेशी मुद्रा भंडार भी अब तक के सबसे ऊंचे स्तर पर है। सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक और एअर स्ट्राइक करके भारत ने देश के दुश्मनों को नये भारत के साम्थर्य का संदेश भी दे दिया है। ये बताता है कि भारत बदल रहा है। भारत बदल सकता है। भारत कठिन से कठिन फैसले भी ले सकता है और कड़े से कड़े फैसले लेने में भी भारत झिझकता नहीं है, रूकता नहीं है।
मेरे प्यारे देशवासियो,
Second World War के बाद, द्वितीय विश्व युद्ध के बाद वैश्विक संबंधों का स्वरूप बदल गया है। कोरोना के बाद भी Post Corona नये world order की संभावना है। कोरोना के दौरान दुनिया ने भारत के प्रयासों को देखा भी है और सराहा भी है। आज दुनिया भारत को एक नई दृष्टि से देख रही है। इस दृष्टि के दो महत्वपूर्ण पहलू हैं – एक आतंकवाद और दूसरा विस्तारवाद। भारत इन दोनों ही चुनौतियों से लड़ रहा है और सधे हुए तरीके से बड़ी हिम्मत के साथ जवाब भी दे रहा है। हम, भारत अपने दायित्वों को सही तरीके से निभा पाए, इसके लिए हमारी रक्षा तैयारियों को भी उतना ही सुदृढ़ रहना होगा। रक्षा के क्षेत्र में देश को आत्मनिर्भर बनाने, भारतीयों, भारत की कंपनियों को प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए हमारे मेहनती उद्यमियों को नये अवसर उपलब्ध कराने के लिए हमारे प्रयास निरंतर जारी हैं। मैं देश को विश्वास दिलाता हूं कि देश की रक्षा में लगी हमारी सेनाओं के हाथ मजबूत करने के लिए हम कोई कसर नहीं छोड़ेंगे।
मेरे प्यारे देशवासियो,
आज देश के महान विचारक श्री अरविंदो की जन्म-जयंती भी है। साल 2022 में उनका 150वां जन्म जयंती का पर्व है। श्री अरविंदो भारत के उज्जवल भविष्य के स्वप्न-दृष्टा थे। वो कहते थे कि हमें उतना सामर्थ्यवान बनना होगा, जितना पहले हम कभी नहीं थे। हमें अपनी आदतें बदलनी होगीं। एक नये हृदय के साथ अपने को फिर से जागृत करना होगा। श्री अरविंदो की यह बातें हमें अपने कर्तव्यों का ध्यान दिलाती हैं। एक नागरिक के तौर पर, एक समाज के तौर पर हम देश को क्या दे रहे हैं, ये भी हमें सोचना होगा। हमने अधिकारों को हमेशा महत्व दिया है, उस कालखंड में उसकी जरूरत भी रही है, लेकिन अब हमें कर्तव्यों को सर्वोपरि बनाना है, सर्वोपरि रखना है जिन संकल्पों का बीड़ा, आज देश ने उठाया है, उन्हें पूरा करने के लिए हर जन को जुड़ना होगा। हर देशवासी को इसे own करना होगा।
देश ने जल-संरक्षण का अभियान शुरू किया है, तो हमारा कर्तव्य है पानी बचाने को अपनी आदत से जोड़ना। देश अगर डिजिटल लेन-देन पर बल दे रहा है, तो हमारा भी कर्तव्य है कि हम भी कम से कम cash वाला transaction करें। देश ने Vocal for Local का अभियान शुरू किया है, तो हमारा कर्तव्य है कि ज्यादा से ज्यादा स्थानीय उत्पादों को खरीदें। देश के प्लास्टिक-मुक्त भारत की हमारी जो कल्पना है, हमारा कर्तव्य है कि Single Use Plastic का इस्तेमाल पूरी तरह हमें रोकना होगा। ये हमारा ही कर्तव्य है कि हम अपनी नदियों में गंदगी ना डालें, अपने समंदर के किनारों को स्वच्छ रखें। हमें स्वच्छ भारत मिशन को भी एक और नए मुकाम तक पहुंचाना है।
आज जब देश आजादी के 75 वर्ष के उपलक्ष्य में आजादी का अमृत महोत्सव मना रहा है, तो हमें इस आयोजन से जुड़ना, उसमें बढ़-चढ़कर हिस्सा लेना, संकल्पों को बार-बार जगाते रहना, ये हम सबका कर्तव्य है। अपने स्वधीनता संग्राम को ध्यान में रखते हुए आप जो भी करेंगे… जो भी… अमृत की बूंद की तरह अवश्य पवित्र होगा और कोटि-कोटि भारतीयों के प्रयास से बना ये अमृत कुंभ आने वाले वर्षों के लिए प्रेरणा बनकर उत्साह जगाएगा।
मेरे प्यारे देशवासियो,
मैं भविष्यदृष्टा नहीं हूं, मैं कर्म के फल पर विश्वास करता हूं। मेरा विश्वास है मेरे देश के युवाओं पर, मेरा विश्वास है देश की बहनों पर, देश की बेटियों पर, देश के किसानों पर, देश के professionals पर। ये ‘can do’ generation है, ये हर लक्ष्य हासिल कर सकती है।
मुझे विश्वास है कि जब 2047, आजादी का स्वर्णिम उत्सव, आजादी के 100 साल होंगे… जो भी प्रधानमंत्री होगा, आज से 25 साल के बाद जो भी प्रधानमंत्री होंगे, वो जब झंडारोहण करते होंगे… तो मैं आज विश्वास से कहता हूं… वो अपने भाषण में जिन सिद्धियों का वर्णन करेंगे वो सिद्धियां वही होंगीं जो आज देश संकल्प कर रहा है… ये मेरा विजय का विश्वास है।
आज मैं जो संकल्प रूप में बोल रहा हूं, वो 25 साल के बाद जो भी ध्वजारोहण करते होंगे, वे सिद्धि के रूप में बोलेंगे। देश सिद्धि के रूप में उसका गौरव-गान करता होगा। जो आज देश के युवा हैं, वो उस समय भी देखेंगे कि देश ने कैसे ये कमाल करके दिखाया है।
21वीं सदी में, भारत के सपनों और आकांक्षाओं को पूरा करने से कोई भी बाधा अब हमें रोक नहीं सकती। हमारी ताकत हमारी जीवटता है, हमारी ताकत हमारी एकजुटता है, हमारी प्राणशक्ति राष्ट्र प्रथम – सदैव प्रथम की भावना है। ये समय है साझा स्वप्न देखने का, ये समय है साझा संकल्प करने का, ये समय है साझा प्रयत्न करने का… और यही समय है हम विजय की ओर बढ़ चलें।
और इसलिए मैं फिर कहता हूं-
यही समय है,
यही समय है… सही समय है,भारत का अनमोल समय है!

जब देश आजादी के 100 साल पूरा करेगा, तो देशवासियों के लक्ष्य यथार्थ में बदलें, मेरी यही कामना है। इन्हीं शुभकामनाओं के साथ, सभी देशवासियों को 75वें स्वतंत्रता दिवस की मैं फिर एक बार बधाई देता हूं और मेरे साथ हाथ ऊपर करके बोलेंगे-

My Dear Fellow Citizens,
Namaskar!
It is a matter of great joy for me to wish all Indians, living in India and abroad, a very Happy Independence Day! This day has a special significance as it marks the beginning of the 75th year of India’s independence for which ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ is being celebrated. My hearty congratulations to you all on this momentous occasion!
Independence Day is a festival of freedom for us. This was made possible by generations of freedom fighters; some known, many unknown. They made great sacrifices. Today, you and I breathe under free skies thanks to their heroic deeds. I bow in respect to the pious memory of those brave martyrs.
Our nation, like many others, suffered great injustices and tyranny under foreign rule. What distinguishes India, however, is that the character of our nationalist movement, led by Mahatma Gandhi, was based on the principles of truth and non-violence. He and all other national heroes provided us with an invaluable blueprint to not only liberate the nation from colonial rule, but also to rebuild it. Gandhiji’s struggle was for a return to Indian ethos and for human dignity.
Now as we look back to the seventy five year journey of our republic, we have reasons to be proud of the considerable distance we have travelled. Gandhiji taught us that slow and steady steps in the right direction are preferable to rapid strides in the wrong direction. The world looks up at the miracle of India, home to the plurality of traditions and yet the biggest and most vibrant democracy.
Dear Fellow Citizens,
In the recently concluded Tokyo Olympics, our sportspersons have brought laurels to the nation with their stellar performances. India has won the highest number of medals in the 121 years of its participation in the Olympics. Our daughters have achieved world class excellence in playgrounds overcoming many adversities. Along with sports, epoch-making changes are taking place in the participation and success of women in all walks of life. From higher educational institutions to armed forces, from laboratories to playgrounds, our daughters are making their mark. In this success of our daughters, I see a glimpse of a developed India of the future. I urge every parent to learn from the families of such promising daughters and provide opportunities to their daughters also to explore avenues of growth.
Like last year, this year too, the scale of Independence Day celebration may have been reduced due to pandemic, yet our hearts remain always filled with enthusiasm. The intensity of the pandemic has come down, but the coronavirus has not yet gone away. We are yet to come out of the devastating effects of its recurrence this year. Last year, with exceptional efforts from all, we had succeeded in bringing the spread of infections under control. Our scientists had succeeded in developing vaccines in a very short time. Therefore, at the beginning of this year, there was every reason to be hopeful as we launched the largest vaccination exercise in history. Yet, due to the new variants and other unexpected factors, we suffered from a terrible second wave. I am deeply sad that many lives could not be saved and many more suffered immensely in this phase of an unprecedented crisis. I speak for the whole nation when I say that I share the grief of all the affected families with the same intensity.
The science is coping with this invisible enemy of terrible might with remarkable speed. We can take solace from the fact that more lives have been saved than the lives lost. It was our collective determination to overcome the challenge that helped us see the weakening of the second wave. Once again, our corona warriors, the doctors, nurses and health workers, the administrators, and others, risked everything to contain the impact of the second wave.
The second wave brought our public healthcare infrastructure under stress. The reality is that no infrastructure, even of advanced economies, could withstand a crisis of such enormous proportions. Efforts were made on war-footing to plug the gaps. The leadership rose to the challenge, and the government’s endeavours were supplemented by initiatives of the states, private sector healthcare facilities, the civil society and others. In this extraordinary mission, foreign nations shared the essentials generously, just as India had reached out to many nations with medicine, equipment and vaccines. I am grateful to the global fraternity that came forward with a helping hand.
Due to these efforts, the nation breathes a sigh of relief with the return of a semblance of normalcy. If we have learned our lessons well, we know that this is the time of extra care and caution. We shall not let our guard down. Vaccines are the best possible protection science offers to us. Under the world’s biggest vaccination campaign going on in our country, more than 50 crore fellow citizens have been vaccinated so far. I urge all eligible citizens who are yet to get vaccinated to do so at the earliest and also inspire others.
Dear Fellow Citizens,
The economic impact of the pandemic is as disastrous as its health impact. The government has been concerned about the lower middle classes and the poor, as well as about the small and medium industries. It has been sensitive to the needs of the labourers and of employers who have been facing hardships due to the lockdowns and movement restrictions. Sensitive to their needs, the government had taken a series of relief measures last year. This year also, the government had distributed food grains to about 80 crore people in May and June. This benefit has been extended till Diwali. Moreover, the government has announced a new stimulus package worth Rupees 6 lakh 28 thousand crore to boost the selected Covid-affected sectors. In particular, it is heartening to note that an amount of Rupees 23 thousand 220 crore is being spent over one year for expansion of medical facilities.
It is heartening to note that rural India, particularly the agriculture sector has kept growing against all odds. In a recent visit to my ancestral village Paraunkh in Kanpur Dehat district, I was quite pleased to find that better infrastructure is being developed to make life better for people in rural areas. The psychological distance between the urban and the rural is now much less as compared to the past. After all, India lives in its villages which cannot be allowed to lag behind in development. That is why special campaigns, including the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, are being implemented for the welfare of our farmers.
These efforts are consistent with the vision of an Atma Nirbhar Bharat, a self-reliant India. With abiding faith in the inherent capacity of the economy, the government has further opened up defence, health, civil aviation, power and other sectors. The government’s new initiatives to promote eco-friendly, renewable sources of energy, particularly solar power, have won praise around the world. If there is an improvement in the ease of doing business, it has a positive impact on the ease of living for all. In addition to these, special emphasis is being given to public welfare. For example, the dream of having a home of one’s own is being realised, thanks to the Rupees 70,000 crore credit-linked subsidy scheme. The series of agricultural marketing reforms will empower our ‘annadata’ farmers and help them get better price for their produce. These are some of the measures the government has taken to unleash the potential of every Indian.
Dear Fellow Citizens,
A new dawn is rising in Jammu and Kashmir. The government has initiated the process of consultation with all stakeholders who have faith in democracy and the rule of law. I urge the people, especially the youth, of Jammu and Kashmir to utilise this opportunity and work on realising their aspirations through democratic institutions.
With all-round progress, India’s stature is rising in the international arena, as it was reflected in our participation in several key multilateral forums as well as in consolidating bilateral relationships with several countries.

When India won Independence 75 years ago, many sceptics thought democracy would not survive in India. Little did they know that roots of democracy were nurtured in this soil in ancient times, and even in modern times India was ahead of many western nations in offering franchise to all adults, regardless of any distinctions. The founding fathers had reposed their faith in the wisdom of the people, and ‘we, the people of India’ have made India a strong democracy.
We have adopted the system of parliamentary democracy. Therefore, our Parliament is the temple of our democracy which provides us highest forum where we discuss, debate and decide issues for the well-being of our people. It is a matter of great pride for all Indians that our Parliament will soon be housed in a new building. It will be a fitting statement of our outlook: It will honour our legacy while also walking in step with the contemporary world. It is more than symbolic that the new building will be inaugurated in the year of the 75th anniversary of Independence.
The government has planned many initiatives to make this special year memorable, and the most exciting of them all may as well be the Gaganyaan mission. Pilots of the Indian Air Force have been receiving training abroad. When they fly off into space, India will become only the fourth nation on the planet to carry out a manned space mission. When it comes to the flights of our ambitions, we don’t let any limitations define us.
Yet we keep our feet on the ground. We acknowledge that we still have a long way to go in realising the dreams of those who won the freedom for us. Our Constitution neatly summarises those dreams in four words: Justice, Liberty, Equality and Fraternity. We must strive for more equality in an unequal world, more justice in unjust circumstances. Justice has come to encompass a larger range of connotations, including economic and environmental justice. The road ahead is not easy. We will have to negotiate many twists and turns, but we have the benefit of incomparable guidance. It comes to us from diverse sources, from the venerable seers of millennia ago, down to the sages and leaders of more recent times. In the spirit of “unity in diversity”, we as a nation are following the right course.
This vision derived from the unique Indian heritage is going to be helpful not only to us but to the whole world in this century. Modern industrial civilization has posed serious challenges before humankind. Climate change has become a reality of life, with seas rising, glaciers melting and temperatures soaring. India is proud of not only adhering to the Paris climate agreement but doing more than what the country has committed to protect the climate. However, the world desperately needs a course correction. This is why the world is increasingly turning to the wisdom of India, as created by the authors of the Vedas and Upanishads, as depicted in the Ramayana and Mahabharata, as taught by Lord Mahavira, Lord Buddha and Guru Nanak and as reflected in the lives of the likes of Mahatma Gandhi.
Learning the art of living in tune with nature requires effort, Gandhiji says, but once you establish a relationship with rivers and mountains, birds and animals, nature reveals its secrets to you. Let us resolve to listen to this message of Gandhiji and also to make sacrifices for the sake of the land we live in.
The spirit of patriotism and sacrifice was paramount among our freedom fighters. They faced all kinds of challenges without caring for their own interests. I have seen that in the face of Corona crisis, lakhs of people have taken enormous risks to protect others, with the spirit of selfless service for humanity. I convey my profound appreciation for all such covid warriors. Many of them succumbed to Covid-19. I pay homage to them.
Recently, on the occasion of ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas’, I wanted to visit the ‘Kargil War Memorial – Dras’ in Ladakh to pay homage to our brave soldiers. But due to bad weather, it was not possible for me to reach that monument. On that day, I paid homage to our brave soldiers at the ‘Dagger War Memorial’ in Baramulla. That memorial has been built in the memory of all the soldiers who have made the supreme sacrifice in their line of duty. While appreciating the valour and sacrifice of those brave warriors, I noticed that the war memorial has a motto inscribed: “मेरा हर काम, देश के नाम” which means, each and every deed of mine is for the nation.
All of us should imbibe this motto as a mantra and work with full devotion and dedication for the development of the nation. I would like that all of us come together to take India forward on the path of progress with the spirit of keeping the interest of the nation and society foremost.

I extend my greetings especially to the members of the armed forces, who have guarded our freedom, valiantly and gladly making supreme sacrifice when necessary. I also extend my greetings to the members of the Indian diaspora, who have represented the motherland well wherever they have made home.
I once again congratulate all of you, on the eve of India’s 75th Independence Day. While celebrating this anniversary, I cannot stop my mind from imagining a powerful, prosperous and peaceful India of 2047 when we will celebrate 100 years of our independence.
I wish that all our people come out of the difficulties caused by the Covid pandemic and move ahead on the path of happiness and prosperity.
International Left Handers Day is an international day observed annually on August 13 to celebrate the uniqueness and differences of left-handed individuals. The day was first observed in 1976 by Dean R. Campbell, founder of Lefthanders International, Inc.
International Lefthanders Day was created to celebrate sinistrality and raise awareness of the advantages and disadvantages of being left-handed in a predominantly right-handed world. It celebrates left-handed people’s uniqueness and differences, a subset of humanity comprising seven to ten percent of the world’s population.
The day also spreads awareness on issues faced by left-handers, e.g. the importance of the special needs for left-handed children, and the likelihood for left-handers to develop schizophrenia.
Several media outlets and commercial associations have made one-off posts and compilations of accomplish left-handed people in recognition of the holiday.
Organ Donation Day is observed every year on 13th of August. The aim of this day is to motivate human beings to pledge for donating organs after death, and to spread awareness about the importance of organ donation.
