सत्त्वं रजस्तम इति गुणाः प्रकृतिसम्भवाः।
निबध्नन्ति महाबाहो देहे देहिनमव्ययम्॥
Human beings are born with certain basic behavioral attributes which are called as Satva (nobility), Rajas (greed) and Tamas (laziness). These qualities control the activities of the mortals. (14.5)

I know little about this quote, but it seems to me that humans possess all these traits and are capable of expressing them. Hopefully we choose nobility the majority of the time.
