GITA WISDOM #25

ऊर्ध्वं गच्छन्ति सत्त्वस्था मध्ये तिष्ठन्ति राजसाः।
जघन्यगुणवृत्तिस्था अधो गच्छन्ति तामसाः॥

The virtuous ones ascend great heights; the greedy stay put where they are; while the inactive go down to the gutters. Action without fruit-orientation leads to glory. (14.18)

सत्त्वगुण में स्थित पुरुष स्वर्गादि उच्च लोकों को जाते हैं, रजोगुण में स्थित राजस पुरुष मध्य में अर्थात मनुष्य लोक में ही रहते हैं और तमोगुण के कार्यरूप निद्रा, प्रमाद और आलस्यादि में स्थित तामस पुरुष अधोगति को अर्थात कीट, पशु आदि नीच योनियों को तथा नरकों को प्राप्त होते हैं
॥18॥

सदृशं चेष्टते स्वस्याः प्रकृतेर्ज्ञानवानपि।
प्रकृतिं यान्ति भूतानि निग्रहः किं करिष्यति॥

In any organization, employees possess distinct individual traits and discharge their duties accordingly. Management shall recognise them and shall not impose compulsory changes. (3.33)

सभी प्राणी प्रकृति को प्राप्त होते हैं अर्थात अपने स्वभाव के परवश हुए कर्म करते हैं। ज्ञानवान्‌ भी अपनी प्रकृति के अनुसार चेष्टा करता है। फिर इसमें किसी का हठ क्या करेगा

ये मे मतमिदं नित्यमनुतिष्ठन्ति मानवाः।
श्रद्धावन्तोऽनसूयन्तो मुच्यन्ते तेऽति कर्मभिः॥

Eliminating the narrow attitude of fault-finding, executives who follow the ordained work ethics with full devotion, are relieved from work-generated stress. (3.31)

जो कोई मनुष्य दोषदृष्टि से रहित और श्रद्धायुक्त होकर मेरे इस मत का सदा अनुसरण करते हैं, वे भी सम्पूर्ण कर्मों से छूट जाते हैं
॥31॥

🎅 ALL SAINTS’ DAY 🎅

All Saints’ Day ~ 1st November

All Saints’ Day, also known as All Hallows’ Day, Hallowmas, the Feast of All Saints or Solemnity of All Saints, is a Christian solemnity celebrated in honour of all the saints, known and unknown. Its intent is to celebrate all the saints, including those who do not, or are no longer, celebrated individually, either because the number of saints has become so great or because they were celebrated in groups, after suffering martyrdom collectively. The feast may have started in the Christian community in Antioch. Its date, 1 November, was set by Pope Gregory III and extended to the whole church by Pope Gregory IV.

In Western Christianity, it is still celebrated on 1 November by the Roman Catholic Church as well as many Protestant churches. The Eastern Orthodox Church and associated Eastern Catholic and Byzantine Lutheran churches celebrate it on the first Sunday after Pentecost. The Church of the East and associated Eastern Catholic churches celebrate All Saints’ Day on the first Friday after Easter.

श्रीभगवानुवाच –
प्रजहाति यदा कामान्‌ सर्वान्पार्थ मनोगतान्‌।
आत्मयेवात्मना तुष्टः स्थितप्रज्ञस्तदोच्यते॥

The person who is bereft of greed and avarice and who is satisfied within himself attains the highest stage of mental equilibrium (called Sthitha Prajna). [2.55]

श्री भगवान्‌ बोले- हे अर्जुन! जिस काल में यह पुरुष मन में स्थित सम्पूर्ण कामनाओं को भलीभाँति त्याग देता है और आत्मा से आत्मा में ही संतुष्ट रहता है, उस काल में वह स्थितप्रज्ञ कहा जाता है
॥55॥

MAHARISHI VALMIKI JAYANTI

Valmiki Jayanti – Birth anniversary of maharishi Valmiki

On this day born the great poet, sage, philosopher and saint Maharshi Valmiki of ancient India. It is also celebrated as Pargat Diwas and is an annual Indian festival which falls on the full moon day in the month of Ashwin.

Valmiki authored the epic Ramayana. It contains 24,000 verses (छंद) and 7 cantos (सर्ग/काण्ड).

यावानर्थ उदपाने सर्वतः सम्प्लुतोदके।
तावान्सर्वेषु वेदेषु ब्राह्मणस्य विजानतः॥

One who has reached the great lake has no use for the small pond. Similarly he who has the broad vision will not lose himself in trivia. (2.46)

सब ओर से परिपूर्ण जलाशय के प्राप्त हो जाने पर छोटे जलाशय में मनुष्य का जितना प्रयोजन रहता है, ब्रह्म को तत्व से जानने वाले ब्राह्मण का समस्त वेदों में उतना ही प्रयोजन रह जाता है
