BUDDHA PURNIMA

Started his earthy journey in the year 563 B.C. to King Sudhodhana & Queen Maya
His birth name was Sidharatha
Born in Lumbini in the Kingdom of Kapilavastu in Nepal
Wherein he had his upbringing
With love and affection profusely overflowing
From childhood itself, he was surcharged with emotions.

He used to feel much pain
When he saw people in utter pain
Hence the King kept him at his aloof in residence
Profuse with a lot of opulence
And all the comforts which a person needs for existence.

Prince Sidhartha was married to princess Yasodhara
So that his son remains busy in the palace life itself
Just cut off from the outside existence
Filled with pain and sufferings
As his father wanted him to be the king and rule his kingdom after him
But the seers predicted that Sidharatha would be spiritual oriented.

WORLD PASSWORD DAY

It is observed every year on the first thursday of May.

Security researcher Mark Burnett first encouraged people to have a “password day,” where they update important passwords in his 2005 book Perfect Passwords. Inspired by his idea, Intel Security took the initiative to declare the first Thursday in May World Password Day in May 2013.

Have a nice day! 💐

THE POWER OF NAMASTE 🙏

SaaniaSparkle 🧚🏻‍♀️'s avatarSaania's diary - reflections, learnings, sparkles

During my first few days at the University of Washington, I remember meeting so many new people. I vividly recall meeting a group of international students from different corners of the globe at a get-to-know-each-other board games event. At first, we were all hesitant and unsure about how to interact with one another given our diverse backgrounds. However, as we played a whimsical round of Scrabble and chit-chatted for a bit, at the end of the day we all wanted to blend in to feel appreciated and loved. So, what does this tell us about human nature?

Getting a little bit in touch with my roots, here’s the most beautiful thing I see in Hinduism: Namaste! This one gracious word reminds us that:

“We are the same. And we are whole.”

As a little girl, I remember watching people join their hands close together with a gentle bow and…

I WILL LOVE YOU UNCONDITIONALLY

Go and stand in front of a mirror right now and tell yourself that you will love yourself unconditionally no matter what.

This is my decision to unconditionally love myself. I adore both the woman I have become and the girl I used to be. In the end, there is actually nothing wrong with me. To some extent, all the negativity, bullying, lost friendships, hatred, and judgement had nothing to do with me, but nobody was to blame. I can now see that. I felt like I was missing something, and the experience broke me. I wasn’t strong enough to stand up for myself, whether it was because of how I witnessed my mother’s upbringing or a lack of confidence. I was unaware that being who I am is OK. The majority of the time now, I see a brighter version of myself. The way I am is amazing. After all, I am lovely.

I am aware that I am no longer required to defend myself to anybody who will pretend to listen. I am aware that I don’t need to inform others of my anxiety and despair in the hopes that they would be understanding. No, I don’t have to tell you why I act the way I do. I don’t have to be too pleasant or kind to you. I owe you nothing. However, I do have a responsibility to provide for myself on a daily basis with a secure and loving home within my flesh. Even when others don’t give it to me especially when they don’t I do owe myself love, gratitude, and respect. I’ve learned how to comfort myself, so I don’t need somebody to save me or make me feel better. I am happy to be here. Of course, it’s wonderful to be surrounded by good people who accept me. It’s simple to miss people that do notice you and love you for it when you don’t love yourself or know who you are at your heart.

Remember, the most comfortable option isn’t usually the best option for you. Sometimes you have to get out of your comfort zone. Sometimes you have to take a chance on yourself, even if it’s terrifying and uncomfortable. Yes, you could lose something lovely by taking the riskier option, but you could also get something fantastic.

BECOMING THE LIGHT

Amber's avatarLost In Amberland

Once, I thought I was lost in the dark.

Stumbling through the thick air of nothingness;

I would fall, again and again.

Never able to find the light, I was trapped.

My thoughts became monsters, hunting me down.

It took some time for me to realize

I wasn’t lost in the darkness, as I had imagined for so long.

I was the dark, simply lost within myself.

That was the moment that I not only turned on the light, I became the light.

HAPPY LABOUR DAY

Harbans's avatarINNER THOUGHTS

HAPPY LABOUR DAYTODAY

In Bhagwad Gita, it has been rightly said:Perform your prescribed duty, for action is better than inaction. A man cannot even maintain his physical body without work.

OUR LABOUR CLASS PLAYS THE MOST SIGNIFICANT ROLL FOR OUR SOCIETY

RESOLTION OF 1889

A resolution was passed in 1889 by the Marxist International Socialist Congress in which it was decided that the workers should not be made to work for more than eight hours a day. Thereafter, it became an annual feature to celebrate 1stMay as the Labour Day.

In essence, in order that the labour class works conscientiously and to their full potential, it is most significant that their rights are protected to a maximum extent through:

HAPPLY LABOUR DAY

A day most memorable
While we pay glowing tributes to class so respectable
A class which stands apart
For definite contribution to the society at large

ACCEPTABLE

Prints on a finger,
are each made unique.
Eye on the trigger,
avoid critique.

Live life and let live,
follow inner voice.
Resent or forgive,
each path is a choice.

People roam this earth,
in search of purpose,
ignore inner worth,
to scratch the surface.

Live life and let live,
try to never judge,
we get what we give,
perceptions can smudge.

Release and accept,
dive deeply within.
Try not to expect,
to savor the wins.

Live life and let live,
respect distinct ways.
Strain hate with a sieve,
love conquers each day.

EID AL-FITR

Debasis Nayak's avatarB +Ve!!

Eid al-Fitr also called the “Festival of Breaking the Fast” or Lesser Eid, or simply Eid, is a religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of the month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting of Ramadan.

It falls on the first day of Shawwal in the Islamic calendar; this does not always fall on the same Gregorian day, as the start of any lunar Hijri month varies based on when the new moon is sighted by local religious authorities. The holiday is known under various other names in different languages and countries around the world.

Eid al-Fitr was originated by the Islamic prophet Muhammad. According to certain traditions, these festivals were initiated in Medina after the migration of Muhammad from Mecca. Anas, a well-known companion of the Islamic prophet, narrated that, when Muhammad arrived in Medina, he found people celebrating two specific days in which they entertained themselves with recreation and…

CYBER CRIME & PERSONAL SECURITY – PART I

Cyber crime is on the rise despite all security measures. I think it’s high time to remain alert and moreover educate ourselves on security awareness needs to prevent such mishappening with us.  I remember many sms i received in my mobile phone in recent past. Even i have discovered those at my email inbox (and not spam folder) asking for personal details to claim lottery as the 1st,2nd and 3rd winner. Fortunately, i didn’t fall in the greed trap and ignored those. After few days i found similar emails again. On a second thought i realized i should have reported such email as spam rather than ignoring the same to prevent such messages come again. Fortunately, we have better reporting platforms these days compared to older days.

Sometimes cyber criminals use the general information from government to public and financial information from banks to public. They use this information to write fancy messages and email that look genuine. They share the same with a group of people who someway (without their true knowledge) disclosed personal information like phone number and email on unofficial media like some social networking sites. Because of lack of awareness we hardly visit the security settings page on networking sites where we have privacy option available. I think we should try and keep secret the phone number registered with bank accounts. Most of us having dual sim option these days and we can do this. Another measure is registering with DND service to prevent promotional calls and messages.

Despite all these measures, the fraudulent and suspicious behaviour is on the rise. They are successful at times with their tricks to impersonate and gather personal details. Technology is evolving with time and what was my learning a year back may not be relevant today to prevent such crime. From my experience i can guess they are not common men who cause these crimes. They are well educated techies with high tech gadgets. They target common men who are either not or less educated in their area of specialization.

So, for us education and timely awareness is the key. By timely I mean sharpening our learning with time and keeping ourselves updated to server the present purpose.

If you like this post, i would like to hear from you and learn from your personal experience.

Have a great weekend!

BEING KIND & RESPECTFUL

What can we achieve?

Let’s think…

Have a nice day! 💐

MAHAVIR JAYANTI

Debasis Nayak's avatarB +Ve!!

Mahavir Janma Kalyanak is one of the most important religious festivals in Jainism. It celebrates the birth of Mahavir, the twenty-fourth and last Tirthankara of present Avasarpiṇī. On the Gregorian calendar, the holiday occurs either in March or April.

According to Jain texts, Mahavir was born on the thirteenth day of the bright half of the moon in the month of Chaitra in the year 599 BCE (Chaitra Sud 13). Most modern historians consider Kundagram (which is today’s Kundalpur in Champaran district of Bihar) as his birthplace. Mahavir was born in a democratic kingdom (Ganarajya), Vajji, where the king was chosen by votes. Vaishali was its capital.

Mahavir was named ‘Vardhaman’, meaning “One who grows”, because of the increased prosperity in the kingdom at the time of his birth. In Vasokund, Mahavir is revered by the villagers. A place called Ahalya bhumi has not been ploughed for hundreds of years…
